About time too, I'm hoping to see it on Friday.

I'm a huge fan of the original movies and had my doubts about Rob Zombie's remake but was hugely surprised! Can't wait to see Halloween 2.

I just got back from watching this. I can honestly say that i thought it was one of the worst horror films i'ver ever seen. It started off fairly promisingly, but then it just went massively downhill due to the terrible storyline and immensely unlikeable characters (especially Laurie Strode, who is a far cry from the Laurie played by Jamie Lee Curtis). The only likeable person was probably Brad Dourif's police officer. The dialogue was atrocious, every other word was "f*ck" or consisted of annoying teen girls calling each other "baby". I'm not one of these pro censorship nut jobs, but the swearing was totally unneccesary, and if i'm honest it ruined any atmosphere that the film might have had (people were actually laughing at how unrealistically overused the F word was).

The gore was up there with the most extreme of mainstream cinema, and in one scene it's clear that Rob Zombie has seen 'Irreversible', but Halloween was never really about gory kills, it was more about suspense, which H2 is sorely lacking. There were some decent ideas in there (like Michael the hobo), but they were just very poorly implemented.

Definitely one to avoid.

I agree with both of you.

I kinda liked the first 20 minutes set in the hospital. It was scary in places, and I liked that Rob Zombie included this nod to the original Halloween II. Everything after that was complete and utter crap :(

They really need to stop making Halloween films now. The series started off strong and went so far downhill, let it rest in peace.

It's weird though because even though the film was awful I quite enjoyed it...

Malcolm McDowell did a good job as Loomis but all the scenes with Sheri Moon Zombie were unneccessary, I'm guessing Rob Zombie wanted to give her some work.....

OTT violence and nudity which had Rob Zombie's stamp all over it.......I didn't find it scary in the slightest just very amusing for all the wrong reasons I 'spose.....:)

As a Halloween-lover, I do NOT recommend this film! I absolutely loved Rob Zombie's original Halloween remake, but this?- it was slightly awful! The first 20 minutes were great, I'll admit -I did enjoy this... but after that? It went completely downhill! Unlikeable characters, silly writing... just a typical teen slasher with lots of swearing & lots of nudity...

This was up until the cinema broke down four times about 1 hour & 15 minutes into the film... which everyone then left & got refunRAB.

Even though i wasn't that keen on Rob's take of Halloween.I went with an open mind when i went to see this on Friday.

I thought the film was utter nonsense.I hated the scenes where Michael's mum would show up with this White Horse or she would show up with a younger version of Michael.Personally speaking i thought that whole idea was pointless.I didn't like the way Loomis was portrayed. He came across as a right asshole & i wasn't saddened when the character was killed. I don't remember there being much of a build up as such just before Michael would kill anyone. For me they just went straight in with Michael killing the person.I thought it lacked suspense. The scene where Laurie comes out wearing the mask in the French MaiRAB outfit just looked ridiculous & it was no surprise that it got a big laugh in the cinema. As for the ending which by this time i had lost intrest, they could have got away with Laurie just smiling at the camera without showing us her mother & that horse again.

I did enjoy the scenes that took place in the hospital & in the hospital grounRAB near the start of the film.I thought the song "Nights In White Satin" worked well in those scenes. But as soon as you found out it was all a dream,in my opinion the film went downhill

How is Rob Zombie going to work making a Halloween III? :D Obviousely the original one has nothing to do with Michael Myers! Just a thought :p
