Hajime no Ippo: New Challenger

Ah, so it is a sequel. My day just brightened a whole lot there. ^^ Going to watch now.

I really hope this is another 60 odd episodes. That'll keep me busy for over a year. XD

You'd love it and hate it at the same time. One of the best (I reckon) matches so far in the season to come veery soon, and they haven't subbed Episode 18 yet.

Edit: Oh wait, I just checked and they just released it. :3 Expect a Edit #2 soon enough. XD

So we know the series has continued where it left off, Ippo defending his title and Ichiro seeking his own title in order to meet Makunouchi once again in the Pro ring. But where is this series going to take us?

What happened to Ippo's shadow follower, I want some filler story, the last seasons filler was great, it was so comical.

And I think Miyata is going to have one hell of a counter for all his work. Can't wait for his fight against Ippo. (If he doesn't lose to that bloody cross!)

I was a little dissapointed with the animation quality... For this anime to have such good fluid movement and yet to look like it should skip a scene.. It is just weird.. I'll have to get used to it all over again. Another thing I gues that makes this new series unique.. It's not afraid to go there..(lol penis in the shower.. .. that's erabarasing to watch every time, Im always wondering whats gonna happen to Ippo.)

I would have to assume it will go for quite a few episodes considering the amount of material there is to work with from the manga. At least I hope it will anyways lol.

Episode 18:

Excellent episode, it really goes indepth to the tiny details. Rising tension next episode as we find out whether Takamura makes it or not :o and probably Ippo's match (most like Takamura's match is on Episode 20). Awesome.

I'm always one week behind but that's ok. I just watched episode 18 and loved it. Gotta feel for Takamura and the pain he goes through in weight management. I can't imagine having to do that every fight. And to go about it so soon right after a fight the way he's doing is really saying something.

I liked the moment he had with his trainer. It was probably the most touching moment of the entire series. That coupled with Ippo and the gang and how they respect and admire Takamura. How they look to him and came to the conclusion that all of this was possible because of him. It was really heart warming. Loved every moment of this ep.

It probably will as it was a popular series.. even now it is. Though ANN only lists 13 episodes, they won't have the full list for 60+ episodes.

Episode 2 was serious. Miyata is awsome, but Arnies bloody cross is beast. The cool thing though is Miyata looked pissed at the end of the episode. I cant wait to see what stradegy he comes up with to beat Arnie because I'm pretty sure his counters aint going to work.

Yes! Now were talking. As I wes reading the news in ANN, I think they like Ippo go world champion or something. I guess well see lots of mexicans.

Anyway, this is good news. Can't wait.

I believe eps 19 is out in englishSub.

I read the manga between Brian Hawk and Takamura. Its gonna be equal caliber like the fight between Sendo and Ippo.

I'm also looking forward to when Ippo fights that guy who looks like a fish!

Ah Mizumi, you're full of surprises! I was actually meaning to post in KT's thread but this caught me by surprise. I haven't finished watching Hajime No Ippo yet but I already know this one will go down as one of the greatest shounen anime of all time. It was never boring.....how they achieved that is beyond me. The comedy was crisp and unforced and the characters were well done. The animation was top notch and the fights were as strategic as they were amazing to watch.

This series rocks.....I hope that the next 90 episodes are as great or better than the first 90.

Well not really. He still has the straight counters. Bloody cross only works on cross counters so all he neeRAB to do is.. well you know what; I won't spoil it. He has a range of counters and just need to aim for one of those.

However, I doubt someone as skilled as the OPBF champion will just let him do that. I wonder how Miyata will react.

One of these after-school bullying sessions turns Ippo’s life around for the better, as he is saved by a boxer named Takamura. He decides to follow in Takamura’s footsteps and train to become a boxer, giving his life direction and purpose. Ippo’s path to perfecting his pugilistic prowess is just beginning …

It's always great to see an old series revived, to be animated and to be talked about. Seems like most of the Seiyuu are coming back for this one. I'm still confused between whether it is a new Remake or a Sequel. Sources say Remake, but ANN says Sequel. Only one way to find out eh.
