Hairspray
Hairspray, New Line Cinema's upcoming film version of the Broadway smash, is currently in production for a July 20th release.

The film will star newcomer Nikki Blonsky as heroine Tracy Turnblad, who helps to integrate a Baltimore dance show and wins the heart of Link Larkin in the process. Produced by Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, who previously brought Chicago to the big screen as an Oscar-winning movie musical, Hairspray will be directed by Adam Shankman. The film will feature a screenplay by Leslie Dixon, who will adapt it from Thomas Meehan and Mark O'Donnell's original book, as well as a score by Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman, who will contribute new songs to their existing Tony Award-winning score.

I bought the Soundtrack today.Something i wouldn't have thought i'd ever do because i'm not a fan of musicals. However after seeing the film & enjoying the catchy tunes i just had to have the CD.I will go & see the movie again.

I'm going to try & see this tomorrow.Like i said in an earlier post i'm not a big fan of musicals but from what i saw in the trailer it looks like a fun movie.

Went for the 4th time today. It really doesn't get boring..

I've decided my favourite song and scene is "You're Timeless To Me". Most people i know, hate that song but i find it so sweet. Christopher Walken and John Travolta are just hilarious in that scene and the song is actually quite catchy.

Still, i love pretty much all the songs. Good Morning Baltimore, Miss Baltimore Crabs, I Can Hear The Bells, Ladies Choice, Welcome to the 60's, Big, Blonde and Beautiful, Timeless To Me, Without Love and It's Hairspray are my favourites.

I've pretty much just names all of them haven't i?

Hahaha

Oh, well...:p

Along with The Producers and Anchorman - this is definatly one of my favourite films.

Saw it last night and absolutely loved it!! Everyone in it was fantastic and funny too! It kept me entertained more than Transformers did (although the latter is still a good film),

Best modern movie-musical since.. The Producers! :D

I hope this gets the recognition it deserves come AwarRAB season.
