Gypsy Vanner that is a sudden kicker and is dominant?

I have a 3.5 year old Vanner/QH cross. His father was a very mean aggressive stallion. My colt had testicles up inside him and we had to pay about $2500 to have him gelded. It was done by one of the best places in CA so I am sure it was done correctly. He was gelded at about 2 years. He seems like he is sweet and comes up to you. But last year I was walking near him and he spun around and kicked me hard dead center in the thigh for no reason. I am still recovering from the damage to my leg.
When my farrier comes out he tries to kick him too. I have worked with horses for 40 years but this one scares me. I would prefer to sell him but want to deal with this problem first. I just let him sit for the last year. Round penned him several times and bridled him. But I am terrified to get near him and especially his back end after when I went through. If I don't work with him I cant sell him. If anyone has experience in breaking a dominant horse from kicking people please let me know.
Of COURSE I am feeding him only top quality grass hay!! As I said I have been working with horses for 40 years. I have ALL of Clinton Andersons DVD's and am a member of the No Worries club. I have trained many horses including wild mustangs from the beginning. But I have never had a horse that appears to be sweet and nice then will kick your brains out the second you turn your back on him. I've had mean horses and scared horses. But this one has me scared because of the injury I got. You would not know by looking at him. He is about 15 hands and looks like a sweet cuddly 100% Vanner. Hair and all.
And I am NOT allowing him to see the fear in me. I walk right up to him and I am showing him who is boss. But he is OPPORTUNISTIC. He patiently waits for opportunities to kick.
I cant afford a professional train right now. If I could I would not be asking.
WHY do people ASSUME the worst about you and not answer the question? DUH. This colt was handled daily by the breeder since birth. She could put him in cross ties and clip and groom him daily. He is used to grooming, clipping, leads beautifully. Since I have had him he gets lead, backed, lunged, groomed regularly. I have lunged and bridled him many times. He has his feet trimmed often, I have done a lot of groundwork with him. I haven't done a lot with him this last year because I was seriously INJURED from him smashing my leg in and cracking the bone. I can still barely walk without pain. Serves me right for asking the general public instead of the No Worries club. I thought I might find a few experienced horse people here.
