"Gurren Lagann" On Sci-Fi's Ani-Monday Block - Talkback *MAJOR SPOILERS*

Yes, exactly. Rossiu may be one of the current antagonists at the moment, but he is not a villain. Whereas a villain would be able to carry out his actions without so much as breaking a sweat, Rossiu looks awful right now. Bags under his eyes, hair out of place, the poor guy is even shaking at times. He's too damn logical for his own good and it's killing him. I can see why he'd be dislikeable but I just can't bring myself to hate him. I feel sorry for him.

Plus, unlike most antagonists, we're not given some sob story after the fact, we saw where he came from and watched him fight side by side with the others as frienRAB and allies. The only reason they're clashing now is because of their differing thinking patterns. Ironically, Rossiu's actions up to now have yet to actually hurt anyone, despite requiring the most sacrifices, and Simon's have. Of course, that looks like it's about to change...

Oh well. It's a blessing/curse/annoyance that seems to accompany hotblooded super robot shows as a rule, for reasons that are unknown to me. Go Nagai left his mark.
 
Rarely should one take anything too literally, of course. Meh, I could hint at things, but any more hype might as well be a disservice. That said, why am I even saying this? Bad, bad, Romey...

Btw are we going have a Rave Master on Sci Fi...er I mean SyFy's Ani-Monday thread?
