"Gurren Lagann" On Sci-Fi's Ani-Monday Block - Talkback *MAJOR SPOILERS*

Oh yeah, we need to catch you up. Okay...Simon's been sentenced to death for saving the city, Rossio's gone nuts, Simon's girlfriend's gone nuts...actually, we'll just anagram the name of Kamina City to Maniak City if it makes things easier.

Okay...granted this isn't the ideal place to see this or most anime series, but given the restrictions and allowances for commercials that are a reality of mainstream commercial television in this country, it was pretty well done. I hope future posters will accept that you're not gonna see or hear the credits in their original formats/lengths and that there's gonna be more commercials than when it was broadcast in Japan so that less space will be wasted on bringing it up.

Good dubbing, especially if it was a rush job as some have said. Talent is top notch with Tony Oliver and Steven Jay Blum, especially. Kudos for Sci-Fi allowing the fanservice moments and the portrayal of Blum's character--I doubt CN would have let them go.

Looks like Sci-Fi's gonna give CN some competition with two good new shows on. I like some of CN's offerings (especially, Code Geass and the already completed Blood +), but Sci-Fi's trumps them with the two series premiering tonight (and its already complete Noein). Think where they'd be if they didn't stop airing anime for all those years...

I thought the general consensus was that Death-Note's second arc would have been much better if they hadn't needed to rush the story? That DN would be better with 50 episodes so that Near and Mello can tell their story properly and with all the clues intact?

I'm going to start DVRing Lagann and watching it after NTHT, I'm going to need the pickmeup in the future.

Episode 4 didn't just feel off animation-wise, all of the characters, plot, dialogue, etc., just felt a little off. It didn't feel like the previous 3 episodes gL at all.

Episode 3 was awesome, though. "Oh please, honey" indeed.

This has been an awesome dub so far. I just hope the quality doesn't begin to fall apart later on.

Yep.

DEVASTATOR! (or whoever's supposed to be the corabined form of the TFA Constructicons) SPIN ON! STARSCREAM'S CHIN IS THE ONE THAT WILL PIERCE THE HEAVENS!!!
