"Gurren Lagann" On Sci-Fi's Ani-Monday Block - Talkback *MAJOR SPOILERS*

Bandai gave Starz Media the broadcast and digital rights to the show. That's why its on iTunes under Manga Entertainment.

So, what were the edits to the first two episodes?

Hey everyone. RIOT!

Now watch the great Kamina rise from his grave to eat the brains of the *******s who tore down his nice little statue.

Uh Rossiu? I liked it better when you were more like Renton and less like Lelouche. Could we please go back to those days again?

Well, in Cowboy Bebop, they call Jet "Jetoh" and Spike "Spy-kuu." Doesn't mean it's the proper way pronounce those names just because they were the first to do so.

That said, we could pretend that they are pronouncing "Simon" the french way.

This Spiral homeworld I'm guessing doesn't see much action on a Friday night.

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Prepare for an interdimensional T.P.-ing of EPIC PROPORTIONS!!!

Unless I'm wrong about Episode 11, this is another Crowning Moment for this show. (Can't remeraber if it's 11 or 12 when this happens)

Anyways for those who are bickering about Simon's "Shinji/Sasuke" attitude. Not only does he get over it, he makes himself look like a badass at the same time!

So break out the tissues for manly tears again.

Over-the-top does not even begin to describe this finale, Everything about the fight between Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann and the Anti-Spiral Mecha oozed epicness. And the ending was just perfect. I can't help but be impressed at the massive scope of this series, in 27 episodes Simon gradually moved up from a hurable underground driller who knew nothing about the world beyond his village to battling what amounted to a god in a pocket universe between dimensions for the future of countless Spiral races throughout the universe. The show is definitely going on my favorites list.

Eureka 7 was only emo for the first 13 episodes. It becomes a lot more exciting once you get beyond that and has a touching conclusion that is worth watching all of the episodes, which is a rarity in anime.

Gurren Lagann itself needed a couple of episodes to find its legs. Episodes 4 and 6 were pointless and episode 5 seemed heavily forced in places, but after that, the show found its stride and never stopped.

As for Gurren Lagann, I had heard the ending was bittersweet, and now I see what they mean. Despite protecting the world, despite the sheer awesomeness of piloting a robot bigger than galaxies and defeating the Anti-Spirals so the Spiral races can live on, Simon really gets the short end of the stick. He loses Nia and has no place left for him anymore, he is just a homeless wanderer. But, at the same time, he seems to accept that, so I don't know what to think.

Yoko from the looks of it has settled into a quiet life as a teacher, I really hope she has found some measure of happiness besides the kiRAB, though.

This is truly a classic of epic proportions, and again, is worth some of the iffy earlier episodes to reach the end. Could there have been better character development? Yes. Did the plot not make sense at times? Yes. But at the same time, few other shows in existence are as entertaining to watch as GL was (and still is). Gundam 00 and Code Geass of the "Bandai Mecha Trifecta" each come close, and Gundam 00 in particular is also on the path of becoming a classic, but GL still beats them out in pure, fun, entertainment value. Then again, GL IS a Saturday morning cartoon in Japan. XD

Gurren Lagann, spin on! Who the hell do you think I am?

Well, one's completely recap. I don't know what you guys think about it, but I really don't think they should air the recap episode.

I'm wondering what version of episode six they're going to show. I hope it's the DVD version since I haven't seen that one.
