Guilty Pleasures: Critically & popularly panned movies that you enjoyed

Inspired by the "Classic Movies You've Never Seen" thread, I though this might be in keeping with the theme.

Let's try not to get bogged down in ugly slanging matches over each other's choices!!! Let's just try and stick to lists, if necessary with a line or two saying why you enjoyed it, if you really feel the need to justify yourself :D !!!

Here's a few to kick things off:

Body Of Evidence (Madonna)
Alien Resurrection
Alien v. Predator
Highlander III
Pink Cadillac (Clint Eastwood)
Planet Of The Apes (Tim Burton's 2001 "reinvention")
Most Jean Claude VanDamme movies

Got a total mental block, I should imagine I have seen so many.... :D
All I can think of at the moment are
House of Wax (recent one with Paris Hilton)
Deep Blue Sea

I'm Gonna Git You Sucka!
Don't Be A Menace to South Central While Drinking your Juice in the Hood

i liked some of the hood/gang movies and these two rip into them - love 'em despite being Wayans movies!

Scary Movie 3

Everyone says this movie is terrible, but I found it more funny than the first two- both went too over-the-top on the sex stuff for me. SM3 was hilarious after watching The Ring though....

(runs away and hides)

Now if film critics shared this enlightened view their opinions might actually mean something. Some crap films are just that, but the true measure of a man stroke woman is to be able to fess up to liking such flicks as-

GIRL HAPPY- My fave Elvis film. It's reminRAB me of an extended, early episode of The Monkees...but with Elvis!

or

NORTH- a pre-hobbit Elijah Wood tries to find himself a new family. It has half the cast of Seinfeld, Bruce Willis in a bunny suit and Dan Aykroyd and country star Reba McEntire doing a version of the theme from BONANZA with a bunch of dancing cowboys.

I agree with Waterworld. I enjoyed it at the cinema. Haven't seen it in ages though, might need to watch it again.

It seems fashionable these days to say how crap Titanic is and pretend you never liked it. But I think its a good film.

Good point.

I think that's quite a common phenomenon, not just with "Titanic" - some movies start off getting panned by the critics and maybe a few prominent posters in forums like this one, so a lot of people then jump on the bandwagon just to be "fashionable" or for fear of being "laughed at" and pooh-poohed. So they pretend to dislike a particular movie, even though they might secretly like it or at least have no strong feelings about it one way or the other.

That's the only explanation I have for some not-so-bad-really movies being so popularly ridiculed.

It also works the other way round, with what I call the "Emperor's New Clothes" syndrome: For whatever reason, certain movies become "fashionable" and so people daren't admit to not liking them - again for fear of being pooh-poohed and being called a Philistine.

Again, my theory as to why a lot of movies of dubious quality still manage to achieve "classic" status.

The Killer Tongue - Completely bizzare, poddles suddenly chaging into rather camp young men, badly acted, horrible dialogue, and a killer tongue - loved every single insane second of it.

Now, I'm off to hunt down Ice Pirates :D
