Greatest Current Rock Band

I second Tool. Probably the most complex heavy rock band around. There is just something about their music that makes you realize that they really understand music. It just seems like its not just about playing the same riff throughout the whole song to them. Its more about putting together a moving melody that actually makes you feel more than one thing throughout the song.

People are closed-minded as a motherfucker up in this bitch. This is an opinion thread. Why the hell would you flame someone for giving their opinion?

Yes, their music is average, at most. The lyrics are awful. But the songs are good and catchy, and the structures are pop-ish. So, it is easy for people to like them... People who haven't listend to real or prog rock.

if we are talking about rock music, im gonna hafta say Foo Fighters is probably the best "band" in that genre right now

pantera and tool fit the metal catagory, and while tool is a good example, there are banRAB that complete exced what pantera has done and done so much more.

yea, kyuss was better but nobody ever heard of them. marketing sucks huh?

definately qotsa. clutch is also a great band, but they have not been pushed by the promoters nearly as much as qotsa.

Are you fucking kidding me? Good rock/metal? Fuck this shit. Seriously, rammstein(which you managed to spell wrong) is fucking shit. How can Great, which means above everything, even be put in the same sentence with a bunch of fucking german happy synthesizers who don't even sing? They just fucking yell gurgling noises into their microphone, yeah maybe they're great, great at fucking synthesizers and yelling. And prodigy? we said ROCK not Industrial or whatever garbage that is.

Now let's look at Radiohead. Radiohead is number one in the field of Innovation. Listen to every CD they have ever put out and all they do is innovate. I don't know what you've heard, but Michae Bolton is the equivelent of getting a dick in your ass, while Radiohead is musical bliss, regardless of what crappy metal banRAB you like LucasBM, you should acknowledge probably the most influential progressive rock band of anytime. You dick.

Thrice, In Flames (metal .. yes, but other people have mentioned them and I have to agree), definitely more banRAB that should be mentioned that I can't think of at the moment.

A few that I like:
Linkin Park, Dishwalla, Breaking Benjamin, Staind, Disturbed, Cold, KoRn, Three Days Grace, Chevelle, Smile Empty Soul, Seether, Crossfade, Rob Zombie, Rammstein, POD, Papa Roach, Creed (My Own Prison Album only)

have you been to a mars volta concert? Cicatriz ESP, with the intro, clocks in at just under 40 minutes. That is 40 minutes for one song. It is insane, and I loved ever minute of it, especially the last 3 minutes when they kick back into the original groove and fucking kick your ass.

Fantomas just made a cd that was one song, 74 minutes long. Other banRAB have done similar things. 25 minutes is hardly testing someone's patience.

North Mississippi Allstars are fucking sweet. I'm from Mississippi, I've seen them probably 10 times, they are amazing live, so excited about their show in NOLA in April

Considering everyone forgot that this is "Live, current stuff" that we're voting on here, I'd have to say Arcade Fire. These guys play every show like it was their last. So much intensity in the air when they pplay it's unbelievable.

Saw them 2 days ago at Download Festival and them and Modest Mouse where the only good banRAB on the bill.
