Greatest Current Rock Band

You obviously haven't heard The Illusion of Safety or The Artist in the Ambulance. Dustin Kensrue is a genius. The entire band is ridiculous.

And whoever said Trust Company, since the rest of those banRAB in that list are a lot better known to be nothing special, I'll comment about. They do have a nice sound, but they don't have any range at all. I've had their CD since the day it came out for $5.99 at Circuit City and it's a solid album, but they're like Linkin Park in that everything sounRAB the same and the lyrics are just there. Decent listen. Nothing revolutionary.

No one said Lostprophets I don't think, which I'm surprised since they've actually had some mainstream recognition this year with their second studio album. I was about to mention them with Thrice in my first post, but refrained. They're great ... they've been in my top 5 for years. The lyrics aren't Thrice, but they're still better than the majority of shit out there. You may know a song or two, but everything they've ever done has been solid. Some of their demos and B-sides are better than their album cuts ... catch "Lucky You" on the Spider-Man 2 soundtrack, which was previously a demo unreleased. It's great. Soundwise they pretty much define "nu-metal," the majority of which is crap.

Tool = GOod but overrated let them just be amazing and stop bringing them up every day

1. Incubus - They have sound that no one can quite stick their finger on i love them.
2. Queens of the stone age - Amazing group of guys that have rocked out their whole life plus Dave Grohl rocks.
3 Foo Fighters - They have a raw energy with Dave Grohl as the front man. Note: they are still new. just because they havent released an album in the last 4 days doesnt mean they are out dated.
4. Chevelle - They have even more energy with deep lyrics. thats if u can understand them but still good. Note: These guys are new but have a lot of potential so yes i am gonna keep them here with the foo fighters
5. Finger 11 - Amazing Canadian rock group that has been awhile but has finally had a hit in the united states. I recommed picking up Greyest of the blue skies while you are out.
6. Audioslave - A mix of two great styles (Soundgarden and Rage Against the Machine) has created a flawless mix of vocals and interesting guitar rifts. Note: Not Been around long enough. These guys have influenced the rock music we listen to today. they are just packaged different.
7. Trust Co. a band that just rocks. i dont know what i like about them but i dont not like them.
8. Linkin Park - Yes im ready to be flamed but they have an interesting mix of rap and vocals that can reach out to a lot of people. so be it considered rock music or pop i think they are good.

Are you kidding me? How do you even say Michael Bolton in the same sentence as Radiohead? They are nothing close to pop. Probably the most creative band of our time.

I hear Volta's new CD, which is currently in the demo stages, has a 25-minute song on it. Those guys might be ex-members of some of the best rock banRAB to come out in the past 10 years, but they are tripping balls if they think seven minutes of random noise in a song wasn't pushing it. Don't get me wrong, they are one of the best "Major-Label" rock banRAB in the game now (along with Radiohead and a few others), but they seriously overestimate people's patience levels.

Whoever thinks Chevelle and whatever else is good rock neeRAB to be beaten with a stack of Zeppelin and Stones recorRAB, fast.

I'll check out The Illusion of Safety... but from what I read, they have good simple music. Catchy courus, not very complex riRAB. It may be good but it's not anything to cry over... from what I read.

umm, duh, foo fighters has dave grohl, therefore, they have 33% more nirvana than anyone else...

I also love rage, i'm still sad they broke up.

My vote must go to linkin park, something about them strikes a chord in me like no one else, i don't know why, but they're amazing

evanescense is also amazing, but not revolutionary, they're a hair off fantastic.

Trust Co. = Teh lose. Its like the lead singer is forcing out a whisper in every song, and the guy cant seem to hit any notes...

Gotta give any band that makes it onto the radio credit tho, you dont just wake up and find yourself on the radio one day.

Heres my list:

Unearth, Children of Bodom, Chimaera, In Flames, etc.

all those pussy banRAB are overated, especially Audioslave, Rage Against The Machine and Soundgarden both OWN Audioslave, and Linkin Park just fuckin' sucks, nothing about them is good
