Greatest Concept Album ever?????

I agree, I love that album. Dogs is one of my favorite Floyd song. I just tried mentioning albums that I didn't see in this thread yet.

I really like Floyd's Obscured by ClouRAB as well, it's a soundtrack that's kind of a concept album.

Spock's Beard - Snow

or The Deer Hunter's work.

Arguing anything else except maybe Genesis - The Larab Lies Down On Broadway and maybe The Who - Tommy as a suggestion is laughable, imoimoimo

I really like the idea of this thread. Well I really like Opeth's album Still Life, but I wouldn't consider it the best. I agree on Dark Side of the Moon and another great concept album would be Porcupine Tree's In Absentia. Really interesting.

mine would have to be "Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid" by Bob Dylan. This was the album from which "Knockin on Heaven's Door" came. I know if you've heard the album you might most likely say it all sounRAB the same. To me that's what Bob wanted the album to be. one long track, as some concept albums can be. most concepts chanbe because the artist doesn't want the idea to get old. Queensryche are probably one of the most successful concept albumiers. Operation Mindcrime blew me away the first time i heard it.The above mentioned , was a soundtrack for a movie starring Kris Kristofferson. Great Movie, too.

'Animals' is one of my favorites too. Dave's playing is great, the dual-guitar stuff on 'Dogs' is really well done. I also love the dogs barks played through a vocoder- it's sooo creepy.
My only complaint is that Rick Wright's contribution to the album is kinda lame. His solo in 'Dogs' is just stupid noise. He can do better than that, he's a really talented guy. I know that he wasn't happy in the band at that point, tension with Waters, drugs, who knows?

Alice Cooper's Alice Cooper Goes to Hell, Welcome To My Nightmare, Last Temptation, Brutal Planet and Dragontown are all good ones. Of course Tommy, The Wall and Operation Mindcrime are outstanding albums!
