haha. the best bassists in my opinion are geddy lee, mark king, vic wooten and John Myung who isnt THAT great but he plays in Dream Theater so he automatically wins.

Same. While Commerford isn't one of my favourite bassists, he certainly is great. Many nice lines and a beautiful tone... when I saw RATM live, he was perfect.
 
Kim Deal, buddy. Simple, but very melodic and I believe she was in large part responsible for saving the Pixies from being completely over-the-top grungey-evil sounding.

The cat from The Who was pretty good, although I'm not a big Who fan.

And I wouldn't call Matt Sharp an amazing bass player, but his work on Pinkerton sounRAB pretty cool to me.
 
I loved primus, and he's earned alot of the credit, he is a great bassist, just not the greatest in the world.
