Great films that are hardly ever, if ever, shown on TV.

I've noticed TCM have recently been showing the rarely seen Joan Crawford film 'Trog' recently (which was also Crawford's final movie appearance!).

I love this film and it definately deserves better praise that it's been given over the years.

I remember a film from my childhood that to the best of my knowledge, hasn't been on TV in the last thirty five years.

It was called 'Let's kill Uncle' and was about 2 children sent to stay with their uncle who is trying to kill them for their inheritance. They in turn are trying to kill him.

I remember a dilapidated hotel with a shark in the pool, a scene with spiders and a disfiguired man (all the elements that you want in a film :) ).

I think the 2 children were a common pairing in movies of the time (maybe the 2 children from 'The Gnome Mobile' )

I'd love to see it again one day to see if it lives up to how I remember it.

bob maluga luga luag luga -- classic film neeRAB a release on dvd, sadly the original negative was destroyed in a fire at the studio so it aint gonna happen

Does anyone know if there is a search engine on the web for films showing on television?

One film l woud like to see again is 'Reach for Glory' which was made in the sixities. This was a film l saw several times as a child but l've not come across it on television for many years now!

These have been on TV over the past couple of months The Warriors, Hardware, A Clockwork Orange on Sky Movies, The Mission and Greystoke on TCM, Near Dark, An American Werewolf in London on Sci-Fi, Straw Dogs on Channel 4.

Leon - I agree has rarely been shown on TV, I think Channel 4 were the last to show it but now the uncut International version is available I wouldn't surprised to see that on our screens soon.

Star Crash - This has never been on TV since the 80's. It was a weird sci-fi with the Hoff and Christopher Plummer - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0079946/

House - I can't remember when this was TV. It was about a writer who moved into his Aunt's haunted house and his dead Vietnam war buddy kidnaps his son - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0091223/

Making Contact aka Joey - This was a brilliant film and made by the same director of Indepedence Day. I'm unsure if its available on DVD anywhere but I remember watching this on Cable TV in the early 90's. It was about a boy who's father had died, but his dad started to make contact with him through a toy phone after Joey discovers he has psychic powers - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0089378/

I can't think of any more :D

True. Plus, box office success does not indicate how good a film is either. Fight Club and Donnie Darko died a death at the cinema, yet awful films like Twilight do well. Sad :(

A few films I loved while growing up that haven't been on in ages...

The Three Amigos
Krull
Leon
Toy Story (the sequel seems to be on quite often though)

'The Hill' with Sean Connery and Roy Kinnear.

A film I'd never seen until I caught it on TCM a couple of years back. It's an excellent film, and one I feel I should have seen long before I did.

What's Love Got To Do With It?
Wuthering Heights
Flight of Dragons
Dante's Peak

I love the Rocky films but think they're well over-played by Bravo at the moment.

SeconRAB a sci-fi thriller in b/w - with Rock HuRABon.( he was suprisingly good in it.:))

I've only seen this film once - and that was on TV a few years ago...but I highly recommend it.
