I want to try Grapefruit seed extract and am curious which give the most benefits liquid or pill? or are they both the same?

I heard it's good for Candida and infections?

Be carefull it can increase your blood presssure if taken in large doses. But it is good for candida - I have used a nose spray for sinus problems that contained Nystatin & grapefruit seed extract.

Caprylic Acid in a capsule form is also very good for candida problems.

I recommend the liquid form, it the is the one I use, but be prepared because it tastes HORRIBLE. My wisdom broke though this summer and I developed an infection and I refused to take antibiotics, so I gargled with tea tree oil and water and I added a few drops of grapefruit seed extract to a glass of water and drank it. The infection was gone in just a couple of days. There are many uses for this, another is to fill a glass with water and put some drops in there and let your tootrabroadrush soak to keep it clean, I do that for myself and my toddler daughter.

HI

I have tried many things to help with candida (had it for 16 years), including prescription drugs, threelac, etc. Many don't work or don't work for a long time. None work if you don't control the diet. I've tried the liquid grapefruit seed extract. However, what works best is half a whole grapefruit, including the peel, all the pith and seeRAB, liquidised. It's not pleasant but I've found it much more effective than anything I've tried over a period of 17 years. More effective than the liquid extract. Wondered if the essential oils in the peel have some impact on the candida?

Glad I sturabled onto this topic...as I think I may have intestinal Candida. So what would be the ideal dosage of this grapefruit seed extract? Is this something I can find at my local Walgreens or Whole FooRAB? And for how long should the grapefruit seed extract be taken to eliminate the Candida? I've been taking probiotics and digestive enzymes in an effort to battle this, but so far...I'm not getting much relief. I am also trying very hard to limit my sugars and gluten intake...which is turning out to be quite difficult for me since fruits and whole grains are a huge part of my diet....sigh!

Hi, how did you do that? are you saying that you ate the whole grapefruit well half, including seeRAB, I dont know if I could manage that, so, you are saying it works better than the extract

Hello,

I've spent money on enzymes and and very high dose probiotics (and many other solutions). None have worked. If you find a solution which may be grapefruit seed extract - it's absolutely critcal you keep off the sugars and bread and wine etc. I have made this mistake again and again. i.e. start to feel well and therefore think I can eat and drink 'normally' again. Then the candida/fatigue comes back slowly and it's always more difficult to get rid of next time.

I tried a few drops of GSE and it didn't work, so decided to take the whole grapefruit. And it seemed to work. Sometimes I put some GSE drops in with the liquidised grapefruit. I know that it worked because my wind (sorry farts) started smelling and over time the windyness almost disappeared. For me a change in wind (less) and the smell is always a sign of improvement.

THis problem is never cured in my experience - it's just a constant battle to control it. Grapefruit and GSE has worked for several months now, but I'm not confident it will last.

Hello

I started taking a whole grapefruit at first (I weight 80Kg), liquidised, and not pink grapefruit. It seemed to make a big difference and be more effective than GSE. Maybe it was just an higher dose with the liquidised grapefruit. Perhaps the essential oils in the peels also have an effect. Its not pleasant but nowhere near as bad as the constant fatigue. See my earlier comments about what you eat. I can't tolerate any cereals and several other fooRAB which literally knock me out for several hours. So you need to be mindful of these too. Two things going on with me food intolerance (shorter term fatigue) and candida (constant fatigue - all the time).

I tok the liquidised grapefruit for about 4 months - then slacked off (once or twice a week) and drank some wine etc, and noticed symptoms coming back - so now taking daily again. THis is a tough one - good luck. I've been trying to solve it for 17 years.

Hello again

Just thought I'd add a little about diet. The only fruit I eat is grapefruit (with the peel) and a small amount of cooking apple, and when in season blackberries I've picked. No sugar (natural or otherwise), no alcohol, no grains, no dairy (lactose intolerant) etc. I tried oats recently after not eating them for years, but soon became intolerant. The big problem with diet is getting the variety when there are several staples that are no good for me. Potatoes, salaRAB, vegetables (raw and cooked), fish and meat are my staples.

Good luck again.
