good GRE scores? Due to the absence of affordable quality education in social sciences in my country, I entered into an engineering university after my higher secondary (=american high school) hoping I would be more motivated once I get in. I realized it was a mistake soon, but lack of funds and family pressure to be an engineer kept me from changing schools, and I graduated this year with a 2.484. But in my final year I gathered some research experience working at a thinktank where they were impressed by my online work in ezines, blogs, etc. and decided to try me out as a research assistant. And today I gave the computer-based GRE - the score was 1530 (800math+730verbal). I am also confident that I will manage to get excellent recommendations. So how would the Yahoo community evaluate my grad school prospects? The masters program I want to apply for is 'Science and Technology Studies', which I feel is best suited to both my career ambitions and the skills I have.
