Good Metal Bands?

Hmmm, Origins new album (echoes of decimation) is quite good, though its way overtop at times in terms of extremity, plus the songs have a tendancy to roll into one another due to a lack of variation. On the other hand, Neuraxis's new one (trilateral progression) is a freaking triumph of brutality and technical instrumentation. I also got my hanRAB on Ion dissonance's new album (Solace), on first impressions its seriously good, uber-technical and aggressive as fuck!

wow thats odd....u got pissed because someone made fun of something that you like listening too.......hrrrmmmmm then why is it ok to judge what i or some others with my same interest like listening to???

I have Agalloch's album The Mantle and I was very disappointed. It's not like Opeth. The only similarity is the acoustic guitar used throughout the album.

Killswitch Engage
Trivium
God Forbid
Lamb of God
Devildriver
Strapping Young Lad
In Flames
It Dies Today
As I Lay Dying
Demon Hunter
BlooRABimple
Coal Chamber
Soulfly

I was just rubbishing a few banRAB, he was rubbishing an entire genre, big difference. Plus I'm a obviously something of a hypocrite.

Well I'd put them both in the progressive doom category, but opeth are death metal influenced, agalloch are more folk influenced. But your right, they do sound quite different. Give Pale folklore a listen, I think it's better than The mantle. But then again, if you really disliked The mantle you probably won't dig it.

Ribspreader's new album has been leaked, can't wait to hear it!

Devildriver
Vehemance
The Black Dahlia Murder
The Agony Scene
Winter Solstice
Unearth

By the way, everyone keeps saying Meshuggah is great and everything, care to recommend me some songs by them? I've only heard a few and they were mediocre.

I'm no metal head but Porcupine Tree is this new band that has good shite.. i mean their stuff is just too damn likeable... its pretty dreamy/trippy music with thick metal riRAB. other than that i like iron maiden.
