I posted something like this a few months ago but it was mainly regarding Asain films. Anyway I was looking for world wide film that are thriller/horror, any good ones?
Spoorloos (the Vanishing). More a creepy thriller than a horror but quite disturbing all the same. I saw it one afternoon and it created a very unsettling atmosphere unlike anything I've seen before.
If you like gore and Hostel style excess try a French film called Fronti
Frontiere's was indeed a derivative and at times very dumb French horror, if you are a person who just watches for gory scenes then you might enjoy certain scenes.
has anyone seen Retribution (Japan - Sakebi)? Watched a bit of it when I was in Hong Kong recently but the subtitles were in Cantonese and obviously they were speaking in Japanese so had no idea what was actually going on but caught my attention nonetheless!
1981 Polish arthouse-horror Possession, which was briefly, ludicrously banned as a video nasty. It isn't nasty, but it is one of the most weird, hysterical films you'll ever see. They certainly don't and wouldn't dare make 'em like that anymore.
They all are, aren't they? Chances are that any foreign language horror film that is known in the UK will be good, else it wouldn't have crossed the language barrier.
