With all this talk of new ghostbuster movie and a game down a line.Does anybody think we will get a new ghostbusters cartoon.Or do any of you guys even want one

What I've heard was that the new Ghostbusters video game is the closest we're going to get to a new movie. And whether or not there will be a new Ghsotbusters series depends on how well the game/movie sells. If it's a huge hit, some studio may decide to produce one.

...And what I heard was that the new movie was going to me 3D animated D: Which just ISN'T the same thing. Another video game would be fun, though, if they actually managed to not make it suck

The CGI for the proposed movie stems from how the actors have all since gotten too old to effectively play their parts. Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis and Ernie Hudson are all into their 50's now; I guess the producers felt that nobody would want to see 4 guys nearing 60 blasting ghosts with Proton Packs. Unless the movie was going to depict the Ghostbusters coming out of retirement to bust spirits, it was a necessary evil. Aykroyd, Ramis and Murray have themselves approved of the decision.

As much as I love Ghostbusters, I'd rather see a new series than another movie if it's going to be CGI or feature the older team overseeing newer younger guys (especially if the rumored names end up being attached.) And in terms of a new series, I don't know if I'd want a continuation somehow of The Real Ghostbusters or a whole new series.

Hmmmm..... Just got distracted thinking of what a Bruce Timm Ghostbusters series would be like. ;) :D

Perhaps, though I gotta say, after meeting him at ComicCon in 2006, I think Ernie Hudson could still run around and look cool busting ghosts. But Harold Ramis and Bill Murray nowadays, they are looking a bit up there.

Well, we DO already have the former (and to be honest, I actually like Extreme Ghostbusters).

But personally, I feel it'd be better just to have an entirely new animated series, possibly with members of the Spectacular Spider-Man team on it (they are both Sony, after all). My only real requests are that the series follows the classic 4, it be in 2D, and have a tone similar to the first three seasons of Real Ghostbusters.

As for where it would air...possibly a new addition to You Are Here on CN? :p

I would only want a new Ghosbbusters cartoon of it's going to include the original GB crew right downnto Jenine working the front phones, and if they try to duplicate the magic the original had.

If they are going to try to do a Ghostbusters Next Generation style show them they should just keep the series in the cemetary...

I'd to have a new GB series with the classic 4, but only if it's in the spirit of the original show, especially the first two years. I want the original 4 and Janine. I guess Slimer's a neccesary evil, being the team mascot and all.

What I loved about the original series is Janine's evolution into actually becoming the 5th Ghostbuster. By that final season, she was regularly strapping on a proton pack when needed. Hopefully J. Micheal Stracynzki would be on board if a new show popped up and gave her that same hard edge he gave her in the original show.

LOL I remember that, man those were the days! I recently bought the huge Ghostbusters box set online, I'm still waiting for it to come in...

After seeing the trailer for the game, I'm hopeful we'll see more of the GB in the next year or two. It looks to be an awesome game, and I know if a new series were done well, it would probably be quite popular on television.

If there ever is another series, I tend to doubt it would ever be like the early episodes of The Real Ghostbusters. There was stuff in there that they could probably never get away with nowadays, all those dark stories/themes and such. It would be great if they could do it, though, or give it at least the seriousness and maturity of something like Justice League.

I never saw the later episodes of TRG (am waiting until I get to them on the DVDs), but I don't really like the idea of Janine basically becoming a fifth Ghostbuster.

It wasn't in every episode, but it happened naturally throughout the course of the show, which if you go by how they talk in 'Janine, You've Changed', happens in real time. By the final episode, Janine strapping on a proton pack when extra help was called for was something that just seemed logical seeing as to how much freakiness she'd been subjected to.

Okay, if it wasn't a full-time gig and just occasionally a helping hand, I could live with that. But only after she's been there for awhile and has gradually worked up to it. I wouldn't want that right off the bat. I do like in "Janine's Genie" when she goes out on a hunt and bags her first ghost, but then later decides to leave the ghostbusting up to them.

Yeah, that's pretty much how it's played through the tail end of the series, whenever the core 4 are either captured/outgunned and need backup.

I skipped past the syndicated episodes to get to rest of the ABC run, so I have something to look forward to in case the ABC episodes sucked as much as people say.

Bruce Timm? Euhg...I don't think I'd want all four guys to have the same gigantic pecs and identical squareish face. I'm glad it's just hypothetical, don't scare me like that!

He can design some pretty weird and interesting creatures, which are the real stars of GB for me.

What I'd heard, as others have pointed out, was that the Ghostbusters 3 script became the game. There's no movie planned anymore.
