Ghostbusters 3 A Possibility?

Variety has reported that Ghostbusters 3 is closer than ever. According to them, "The Office" co-exec producers Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky have been working on a script. It is hoped that the script will convince all the of the original cast to return.

They still haven't solved the main problem for it happening though- that Ramis/Aykroyd/Murray would want a quite high percentage of the gross between them, making it hard to be profitable for sony. This is the reason it hasn't happened to date.

Wasn't there a rumour that Carrell and Rogen were were going to take this over since it's increasingly unlikely that Murray, Ackroyd and Ramis are interested in doing a third installment at this point?

Can I share my completely plucked out the air theory?

Murray and Ramis fell out during 'GroundHog Day' and haven't spoken in many years. There was an article in the 'New Yorker' about Ramis and he explained that Bill Murray wanted to make GHD more 'philosophical'. He was also going through the divorce to his first wife. It all got messy.

Now I wonder if Murray divorce number 2 has made him think 'What have I said no to that I should say yes to'.
You know one of those end of relationship reassesment things.

Yes it probably is utter drivel - but a semi-tearful Murray/ramis works in my head.

Either way I think they should leave it and stick to the video game.

Could Columbia Pictures just make a Ghostbusters 3 without the involvement of Rammis and Aykroyd,or do those two have some sort of co-rights to the brand and characters.

If Columbia could go straight ahead without Rammis and co,then I can't see why they eventually won't just make a third movie with a whole new cast starring some of todays top comedy boxoffice draws (i.e Ben Stiller,Seth Rogen,Jack Black,Steve Carrell,Martin Lawrence etc) as the Ghostbusters.
Despite the fact it would no doubt upset fans of the original movies, there is really no reason it would not be a huge financial success, especially if it's actually good.

I heard someone say (can't remember who or where, and doubt if it's true) that Bill Murray would only do the film if he was a ghost.

I kind of like that idea!
