When A&E HD arrived I was surprised to see it wasn't added tp my program guide as part of the 10.00 HD package even though I get it in SD. I figured it must be one of those a-la-carte channels. I added the other specialty channels as per instructions on the interactive channel but A&E wasn't there. Today I decided to look into it. Turns out I AM entitled to it but (according to the CSR) Bell won't give it to you unless you ask for it. I did a (very) little whining and the CSR is sending a 25.00 credit for 2.5 months of not getting my entitled programming. I am now receiving the channel as I should have. I just don't understand why Expressvu would allow this to happen.

I did a "resync" though the web site. Rush and Equator came back. (Along with a few other HD stations that were cut off.) ;)

I'll try the resync thing this weekend. IMO, the missing channels arent great, but why not have them :P

I have lost packages here and there 3 times. (Installed in Dec)
the latest was TSNHD, I was told that I never had it even if I had watched it in the past. I was also told as it's a free add on when you get sports 1 and HD so the refund would be what I paid for it, nothing.

A&E is red in my guide too. I pay for the SD channel and the HD channel was on for a few weeks then went dead.

So why does Bell want all their subs to call for this channel even though we are paying for in already?

This did not happen with HDNET.

Carson, are you subscribed to the old Legacy programming or to the newer Digital paks. I was on the old super 7 until yesterday when I called to get all my lost HD channels put back on. I was told that in order for that to happen, I would need to make the switch to the new format. I argued but to no avail. I eventually succumbed and went with the new format and within 10 mins., I had all of the HD package on the guide. Cost me about $7/mo more with tax in.
Now if I could only get rid of the old redded out channels in my FAVS. How to do that???????????

Also had lost A&E after the preview.
Called Bell about that.
They had to do a reset of the HD package and it came back.

Maybe we all can get a rebate for the guide saying it is in HD, and it is not in HD. I am sorry to say it is mostly a waste of bandwitdth, used to be a great, progressive channel, now just CSI re-runs.

when i called BEV they said that I can't get A&E and HDNET unless I go to there new packaging and pricing.

I am on there older Ultimate 12 and paying $9.99 for HD.

you might've noticed an ad of some sort saying 'add rush and equator for free' while browsing your programmes prior to feb 1. the reason why you're not automatically subscribed to these channels even though you have the hd program pack is because rush, equator, and a&e hd were just recently thrown into the new hd programming package, which was updated only a few weeks ago following the free trial end. there are several ways to manually "opt-in" to these channels: you could add it on bell.ca, you could follow the onscreen instructions on your receiver (i'm not sure if this option is still available), or call skydish and speak to a representative. all it takes is a simple swap.

you must be on the genesis programming platform though. legacy customers will have to migrate to benefit from the additional channels.

the same goes for tsn and rsn hd if you have sports 1. you must request the high-def channels, as most reps will not remember.

wow. Did you try a couple of times with that? That doesn't sound right at all. Try a few agents...

Newtoit - While i have been an Evu subscriber almost since day one, i am on one of the newest packages. So I guess that does matter.

HDnet has been removed for a lot of people who are grandfathered. A&E wasn't worth the breath IMO.

A&E, Rush, Treasure, Equator and Oasis were offered in free preview until the 30/11/2006. Client now needs to suscribe to the HD value pack to be able to receive those channels.

People that have the older programming (like Ultimate 12-Super 7-All you can eat) can not add the HD value pack or any other programming. They need to migrate to the newer programming packages to be able to make any addition to their programming

People who do have the HD value pack may have gotten the package a long time ago and be classified in our system as HD value pack old. All you need to do is to call 1-888-SKY-DISH and we change the HD value pack old for the current one. There is no difference in price (10$/month)

If after all that channels are still missing you can call for troubleshooting or go to bell.ca/missingchannels

The agent was right about the credit...according to the policy the calculation should be:price of the theme/numbers of channels in the theme/30 days in the month*numbers of days missing

Where is that policy edicted ?

Satisfaction credits are left at the best judgement of the CSR.

That said, I don't agree with giving a $10 credit to a client for that matter. It was advertised so many times I can't believe they could not figure out they had to call. Plus, if they really liked the channel, they should've called the day the free preview ended, don't you think ?

If you are paying for HD, you might be just as well off going to the new packages and getting the HD. I figured out that I could switch the the new packages but adding the cost of HD would put the price up by $9. If I were paying for HD, the price would go down by $1. (I have free HD grandfathered from way back.) You can also get a month free TMN by switching on the web site.

Well had my card re-hit today for this channel after trying the online "sychronize" function which did not work. I referenced the $25 that others got and the CSR started arguing with me that there are 30 channels in the HD pack and only 1 was not available for 2.5 months at $10/month so that equals $0.83 and that he would give me a free PPV. As ridiculous as his argument was I turned it around on him and told him that the ONLY HD channel that I watched 100% of the time was A&E-HD so they owed me $25. I also told him PPV is of no value to me. He also gave me a hard time for not calling them sooner... and I responded that if they didn't turn off the channel for everyone in the first place I would not have needed to call. LOL. So in the end he gave me $10 which I think is reasonable.

Based on the above I really think the CSR's are taught to bicker with the customers starting really low and then making better "offers" the more you complain. He was able to increase from the PPV to the $10 credit without even having to go to a supervisor. Next time I;m asking for a million dollars. ;)

Anyone missing Rush and Equator? They have been working for months and all of a sudden they are red like A&E.
