I am really confused right now with the Geek and Nerd culture becoming so popular. At simple everyday stores such as Wal-Mart, Kholes, JC Penny etc you see The Flash, Superman, Batman and other geeky things on shirts, bags, stickers etc.

All the inside jokes are becoming overused and popular and it's like everyone is a nerd now. Everyone likes Batman, Mario, Legend of Zelda Comics, Video Games, Technology, Computers etc

I don't even know who I am anymore because of this. I know it sounds stupid, but Math/Science, comics, superheroes and old school games were all I knew. Now even Hot Topic is carrying Mario, Batman and shirts with geeky jokes on them?

Should I change how I dress and who I am (I DO NOT want to be a conformist and popular) so I am not like everyone else and wait too see if it passes. I mean every teenager I see is making star wars jokes, and talking about the new superhero movies. The same people who used to make fun of me for this stuff are now doing the same thing I was doing. (Hypocrits)

I know that most of you are thinking I am a loser, but it's still my culture. I just feel like it's going so mainstream and soon people won't know the real geeks from the ones who played DnD before it was popular.

Will this pass or is the geek culture going to become mainstream forever? Should I just find something new or just prove to people I meet that I am an actual geek and not someone who bought a Mario T-Shirt and called themselves a gamer.
lol play the tuba? I already can read music and play the piano and acoustic guitar.

How is that an answer?
