Garmin Nuvi - shuts down ?

Hi there - new Garmin 265wt Nuvi ... think its going to be cool, but I've noticed that it shuts down spontaneously - alot. Yesterday it was working then shut down and we missed our turns. wth? is this due to the device losing satellite contact (does cloud cover/inclement weather affect or drive this error?) Any thoughts appreciated, because this baby is going back to the store if it doesn't work in bad weather or does this alot - thanks
 
Weather usually doesn't effect a gps mountains and bridges can if the unit is completely turning off the u got a power issue may need to be returned if it is loosing satellite signal then u mite want to try mounting it in a location with good view of the ski like the windshield if that doesn't work contact garmin and they will fix it or replace it and solve your issue.
