ALLSTAR you've said it perfectly.

hear hear! lol

i put the soundtrack in the car lol, sooo addicted! and i found another version of the song SUch Great HIeghts by Postal Service, if u like the song you should check it out :D

So I saw the movie for the first time Saturday night and have now seen it twice. (went to a matinee this afternoon) It's amazing. It's beautiful, funny, romantic, and so true to life. I love it when I see a movie that makes me say, "wow there's someone out there who gets it."

The music was perfectly chosen. I got chills both times when the beginnings of Frou Frou's Let Go started playing. And Iron and Wine's cover version of The Postal Service's Such Great Heights made me smile as well. Never mind the fact that it featured 2 songs from The Shins (Zach must like them a lot...can't say I blame him.)

Zach Braff did an amazing job both as writer and actor. This was the first movie that I've ever actually liked Natalie Portman. Can't wait for the DVD.

So true. I liked the cutting of the music, and he way "let go" was said once he kissed her. And then the happy accident (in the commentary) they were talking about the light behind them, because the janitor or extra opened the door in the far back. So cool.

Oh, I didn't see that ... awesome picking that up the day its released and I will play that out so fast, :)

memorable 'garden state' quotes.....

I'm your new friend Sam!

Don't tease me about my hobbies, i don't tease you about being an *******!

I just realize that its silly to take anything too seriously.

Good luck in the infinite abyss.

You feel homesick for a place that doesnt exist

I'll take a hug.

I'm going to kill that mother****er -Pun intended?

Oh and by the way, it says 'balls' on your face.

How do you feel? safe, I feel safe when I'm with you I feel like home

Sam: I recognize you. Andrew: Oh, did you go to Columbia High? Sam: No, not from high school. From TV. Did you play the retarded quarterback? Andrew: Yeah. Sam: Are you really retarded? Andrew: No. Sam: Cool. Great job, man. I mean, I thought you were really retarded. You're just as good as that Corky kid, and he's actually retarded. I mean, if there's some sort of, like, retarded Oscars, you would win, like, hands down, kick his ass.

You gotta hear this song. It will change your life I promise you.

We'll probably head over as soon as we're done burying your mom

I made you a shirt and i want you to try it on now. Now? Yeah, just in case it doesn't fit and we don't see you for another 9 years

This is your one oppritunity to do something that no one has ever done before & no one will copy throught human existance. And if nothing else you'll be remembered as the one guy who ever did this.. this one thing.

I can tap dance. Wanna see me tap dance?

We're not going to like make out or anything... what? i'm sorry i just like totally ruined that moment

If you don't laugh at yourself, life is going to seem a lot longer than you want it to.

You look like a wet beaver.

You know that point in your life when you realize the house you grew up really isn't your home anymore? All of a sudden, even though you have some place to put your ****, the idea of home is gone. Maybe it's like this rite of passage, you know. You'll never have that feeling again until you create a new idea of home for yourself for your kids or the family you started. It's like a cycle or something. I don't know, but I miss the idea. Maybe that's all a family really is: a group of people that miss the same imaginary place

This is life, this is it

So what were you really doing there? Charging. I'm a robot.

My Friendly Fire has bent corners and someone stole my Wolf Blitzer.
Peace out, player.

You are in it aren't you?

I know it hurts. But it's life, and it's real. And sometimes it ****ing hurts, but it's life, and it's pretty much all we got.

I love this movie. It just has a great feel to it. No better way to spend Sunday afternoon than watcing "Garden State". :)

i'm so jealous. I really want to see this movie. it looks like its a stand out movie. i'm definitely going to but it and the soundtrack.

i wonder if i can but the soundtrack online? i'll go see for myself...

is that picture of them at the premiere? I think its so cute, i love it when natalie's hair is much shorter though...

I put off watching this movie until the other day because I thought I wouldn't like it. WRONG! I loved it so much. How can something so simple be moving and amazing! I was blown away. I'll have to get the DVD soon! :D

Wow those pictures of great! Thanks for posting them.

And glad to hear that Garden State is getting good writeups! :)

I loved how it ends w/Andrew asking the question "So...what do we do?", so many possibilities b/c they can truly do anything they want to do!

Buy it immediately. You will never see a movie as good as this from a first time director. You will be transcended into a world your familiar with and see everyday situations as well. Plus, Portman and Braff and Saarsgaard are a picture-perfect cast. Trust me, you'll love this movie!

From hollywoodbitchslap.com:

Garden State is the kind of joyous moviegoing experience that has you dying to tell everyone about every perfect scene, every nuance and every performance until there

Squee! That made my weekend, yo. Definitely on my Must. Rent. Now. list. Er...as soon as it comes out.

I love that article. Natalie Portman is the cute.

don't wait any longer then....see 'garden state' in a theater.....the way a film is made to be seen........

I just went to see this for the second time last night and I loved it even more!!

The first time I went to see it was at the London Film Festival and Zach Braff and Natalie Portman were there, which was amazingly cool!! :D He is hilarious in real life, which is very refreshing.

The movie is amazing though. It was one of the first independent films I'd ever seen, and it has a totally different feel than the big Hollywood films. It's all about the characters and their lived, as oppose to how 'look how much money has been spent on this 10 second scene'.

It has changed the way I look at things. I think in the future I will be much more relaxed about the decisions I make. More than anything, Garden State has shown me that things will all end up ok. Maybe not the way you always imagined they would... but that's ok!

I'm definitely buying it when it comes out over here in February.

SleepingBeauty16 I download mine off of Kazaa. It took me a while to find it though:(
