Okay, this series is debuting on Wednesday with 2 episodes, but one of the episodes has been on Break.com for the past week or two, so it's appropriate to start the talkback thread. BTW, this series, while not yet rated, is not reccommended for young viewers.

Series Synopsis: It's the 1980s. And GameAVision is a company that makes video games. The series follows GameAVision employees/programmers Dave and Jerry as they try to create video games and survive their workplace. The series is the latest from Adam de la Pena, the man behind Minoriteam and I'm With Busey.
Episode 1: "The Woz" The GameAVision staff's world is turned upside down when owner Steve Wozniak (guest starring as himself) sells the company to a crazy Texas oil tycoon named Larrity so he can become a co-founder of Apple Computer.
Episode 2: "E.T." Larrity buys the rights to make a video game out of the upcomming Hollywood blockbuster "E.T." and gives the job of creating the game to Dave and Jerry. You know, with a game property like "E.T.", you know the final product isn't going to be good. You can actually view this episode on Break.com right now.

The episode on Break is getting some mixed reviews (mostly negative) and the review score for the full ep is 3 1/2 stars. But, I like it, and I'm going to record the premiere. The show is G4's first fully original scripted series (excluding stuff like like the X-Play musical), so there is some pressure to see if this flops or not.

Check out the previews on G4tv.com and Break.com and enjoy the first 2 episodes!

NOTE: Since this is a show on G4, the poll will reflect the review scale on G4's signature show, X-Play: a five-point system.

Yay, just like Adam and Morgan, only more low-iq'd!
anyways, the show should be okay, +tunes in this wednesday+
First G4 Talkback in rabroad ftw.

So, tell me once and for all... GameAVision isn't a real company then, right? I was genuinely puzzled by those commercials for GameAVision games G4 was running several months back, now I think I get it - it was just viral hype for Code Monkeys, wasn't it?

I haven't seen Code Monkeys yet, but I love how the ads for it say "From the geniuses behind Crank Yankers and the makers of Minoriteam" as if that's somehow a major selling point. Basically that says to me, "Expect a lot of lowbrow toilet humor and offensive ethnic stereotypes."

I don't have G4, so I had to go by the ET episode online. It was okay. Nothing special, but I can name shows that were a lot worse (Minoriteam, Freakshow) It seemed like Sealab-style humor only with video-games. It's not Shakespere, but you shouldn't be expected that anyway. It kept me entertained and I guess that's all you can really ask for. Plus, it's in 8-bit, so that gives it some points in terms of creativity.

I plan to watch the premiere to satisfy my own curiosity, but seeing as how Code Monkeys will be airing on G4, my expectations are not high. A show done entirely in 8-bit graphics. How long can that stay fresh? Plus, I could take or leave Crank Yankers and I thought that Minoriteam was just plain stupid, so if Code Monkeys is just going to be more of the same, then G4 can keep it.

Tonight is the premiere, 9pm ET on G-"Anime Less"-4, Get Plugged In As We Watch A Show About 8-Bit Crazy People Doing, Well Crazy Stuff.
If You Need Me, i'll be watching The E3 show, then This show...

EDIT: E3 day 1 is over, and now: (in Jorgen's voice) IT IS TIIIIMMMMEEEE!!!

I do like the bits where the top and bottom bars correspond with whats going on in the show. And the little 5 second intermissions that happen every once in a while. IMO, It's a step up from Minoriteam, but not by much.

So much potential. So very, very awful.

Wow, Black Steve, women jokes, and dirty humor. They're trying SO HARD to be unPC (Minorteam's problem) and it doesn't work at all.

How many times must I say this: Politically Incorrectness, racism and sexism =/= Funny.

Code Monkeys offered 1 or 2 chuckles, but overall, it was pretty forgettable. I'd watch it as an alternative to nothing, but it's nothing I'd go out of my way to watch. Thankfully, I never expect anything from G4 (aka, G4SpikeTV), so I'm never disappointed.

G4 isn't what it once was. It's mostly all Cops, Cheaters, and Star Trek, and they screwed up during the Halo 3 trailer at M$'s press conference. However it's Canadian counterpart, G4TechTV is different. It actually has good shows, even some that the original G4 doesn't even air.

I've seen G4TechTV's schedule, it completely destroys G4 U.S. The Canadian version didn't kill the Tech TV half the way that Comcast Cablevision did here in the states. G4TechTV Canada still shows Call For Help (which has since been purchased by Greedy Productions and is now being called The Lab with Leo Laporte) If DirecTV would import G4TechTV Canada here in the States, I'd never watch G4 U.S. again (which I hardly do now anyway).

That was the last straw! After watching the first two episodes of this show, I don't want to bother watching anything else on G4... except for X-Play!
