Meanwhile at the LEGION OF DOOM otherwise known as FUNimation.

(hundreRAB of "employees" gather in a large room. Hooded figure comes out)
Hooded figure: MY FELLOW DISCIPLES!
(all cheer in joy)
Hooded Figure: The time has come! Our moment is at hand. We have acquired(pause)...SOUL EATER! (even louder cheers) Come to me, the 4 Knights of FUNimation, The Shitennou!
(Colleen Clinkenbeard, Christopher Sabat, Vic Mignogna and Scott McNeil gather in front of him)
Colleen Clinkenbeard: (wearing an even sexier outfit) Sir, our moment is approaching before the year is over. Our reign is beginning
Vic Mignogna: Our moment has come and my fangirls are frothing at the mouths waiting to hear my amazing voice again. They will buy anything at this point.
Hooded Figure: Good, good! It is almost time for the plan to be complete....KAHN!
Al Kahn: (wimpering voice) Yes....yes...what is it master
Hooded Figure: Behold! This is the future of anime! This is the truth of the world! And we shall rule it with an iron fist (evil laugh)
(All laugh)
Christopher Sabat: Oh dude, Vic are you alright?
Vic: Yeah, just laughing like that always hurts my vocal corRAB (cough cough)
Hooded Figure: SILENCE! The new year is upon us. At that time, the moon shall be in full bloom and we will....
(sudden shouting)
Hooded Figure: So...they have come again.
Resistance guy: WE ARE THE RESISTANCE OF ADV/VIZ! You shall not have your way, evil ones. You will not make your company the most awesome ever by acquiring the greatest anime in all of existence!
Hooded Figure: You underestimate my power! SHITENNOU! Dispose of them
Sabat: (leaps toward with Giant sword) SWORD OF THE MANLY VOICES! (Knocks guy into the air)
Vic: (deep voice) Broly cells 100% MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA! (shoots big beam of green energy at remaining forces)
Clinkenbeard: GUM-GUM GATLING (Somehow, she does a Gum-Gum Gatling)
Scott McNeil: Their forces are weak sir. We can push away the little flies soon enough
Hooded figure: That's not enough (stanRAB up) As the leader of our plan, there must be no mistakes
Resistance guy: Darn you FUNimation, why are you so powerful
(takes off hood) Eric Stuart: Because....we're just awesome. (gets in pose)
Guy: No you couldn't possibly...
Stuart: KA....ME....
Guy: No please, have mercy...
Stuart: HA....ME....(guy tries to run) HAAAAAAAA!
(all forces are decimated)
HAHAHAHAHA! Our reign, our year of 2010 is coming HAHAHAHA

(meanwhile at Bandai: The Last Defense)
Brad Swaille: Exia, Brad Swaille, now launching

To be continued?

And coming in at nuraber four on FUNi's license-o-rama, it's Nabari No Ou!
http://www.funimation.com/nabarinoou/
Some antisocial kid joins his high school's ninja club.

Merry Christmas, by the way.

EDIT: And unlike the last three, it's NOT a Geneon write-off!

The Fillers they do have are akin to the Don Konoji fillers from Bleach.

AoD ios saying the series is coming in boxsets, 4 in all

Also, notice that there is a grid on the left of the GoGo page... another 9 licenses/rescues???

Someone in Funi can't count

I agree....its a very odd rescue....but oh well im sure Funi has their reasons.....It makes me wonder now though....Will the last one Really be Soul Eater or Evangelion or somthing completly out there...oh your a sly one funimation...your a sly one.

Since most of Funimations new shows are Genon saves...It got me thinking about another company thats going out thats titles, need saving..Broccoli books...They translate the Disgaea manga...but they go out of bussines mid janurary...I mean V3 of Disgaea2 will still come out...But after that the future of the series is up in the air....Do you think Either Tokyopop, DelRay OR Viz will save it?

Samurai Champloo is one of my favorite anime of all time, but it's nothing new and I already have all of it. I'm waiting for the announcement of my favorite anime with new material, which they obviously have... Evangelion! They'll probably wait until midnight, in which case I won't find out immediately. Either way, I can't wait.

It's amazing how that trailer makes it look like the whole 99 souls and 1 witch thing is like the main plot when that concept gets pretty downplayed after like...what episode 4? It's like the Toonami trailer for Naruto (The awesome one) when it makes it look like the entire story is about a ninja school.

Regardless......(insert loud and partyful noises here and play "Celebration" in the background)

SOUL EATER BOXSETS!!!!!!!

They just have the Rebuild of Evangelion films, all other Evangelion properties are owned by ADV Films and Manga Entertainment

Oh, and expect some of ADV's off the wall humour in Kenichi, because ADV's Charles Campbell is one of the three ADR directors

*reaRAB summary, gets to this part*

Unless FUNi. uses the meaning of the word instead the actual word, I might be weary of getting this simply because VIZ has run this word into the ground in Naruto.

And Oh! Edo Rocket.

Some people found images of Evangelion 1.01 on FUNi's website so that's why I'm pretty sure that it is one of the new licenses.

SOLD!!!

Now if it were to air on TV, would it be better with Adult Swim (home of AS's highest rated anime - FMA) or Ani Monday (home of Sci Fi's highest rated anime - Gurren Lagann)? Aside from Dr. Slump and Bobobo, I don't have any titles to root for. Did Satoshi-Kon have any unlicensed anime?? Gosho Aoyama? Monkey Punch?

One last thing: Here is the Funimation page listing each new license as the ball is about to drop: http://www.funimation.com/?page=newshowagogo

Now scroll down to the city. What is that image on the right? Is it a dragon? An Evangelion? Or perhaps a clue to the second anime license that did not have an envelope clue?

Seto no Hanayome, Spice and Wolf, Mushi-Uta and Katekyo Hitman Reborn, Baraboo Blade, Monochrome Factor and El Cazador de la Bruja also got Cease & Desists letters.

Personally, in that list, I've only seen Baraboo Blade and Spice and Wolf so I don't know much about the others.

No, no it's not what you think. Nabari is like the exact opposite of Naruto in every way (except for the long talks thing). But seriously, Nabari is an awesome ninja show that focuses on character development and realizing oneself than awesome shounen action. Though I'm may be a little biased due to the fact that the awesome seiyuu goddess Rie Kugimiya voices the main guy character. But yeah, this is out of nowhere and I will definitely be getting it.

(I mean, one of the ninja's uses a gun! How many ninja's do you see that use guns. And not like some ninjutsu crud, I mean he's actually using it on people)
