FUNimation Licensing Blitz Coming

I dunno, I like Crispin Freeman as Touga, and Rachel Lillis as Utena, but overall yeah, I really didn't like the dub, either

Speaking of which Kaiser does a kickass job, as Touga in Whip0fAlchemy's Utena Abridged!!

*shakes dice*

Come on GINTAMAGINTAMAGINTAMAGINTAMAGINTAMA GO!!

*snake eyes*

Aww.

...seriously, though, SOMEONE better get on that. The manga's fantastic - and if the anime is anywhere NEAR as good, we need it on American soil, STAT!

Can someone tell me something?

The latest Anime Insider says Funimation has Hayate the Corabat Butler.

Yet Bandai announced this show as one of theirs at Anime Expo 2008. Something happen?

So, will this EVA be recorded down at FUNimation? Allowing FUNimation directors to direct would allow for their 'higher' standarRAB to be used to enhance the project and would give them temporary access to voice actors they don't use too often if at all. That is, assuming the original cast returns and we don't wind up with a Lupin III situation.

Well that was a fun ride. Glad we got Soul Eater out of it, as well as a few Geneon saves.

I, however, am with most people in saying that FUNi should have gotten GINTAMA in this rush. Reborn! would have been nice I suppose, but it cannot compare to the epic awesomeness (for lack of a better description) brought to us in almost every episode of Gintama. I honestly can't see anyone else but FUNi doing this series justice (and hopefully landing it a spot on [adult swim]) so I'm hoping they license it soon before someone else does.

ironically i was just thinking about how they didn't pick this up yet.

i think they're messing with us. notice the silhouette on the page, and how the ball line still goes down. they're announcing something New Years Day. just watch.

Just throwing it out there, I'm sure you know but just in case DVD's don't come out, you do know about the whole "Crunchyroll putting it up every week legally" thing right?

It's actually pretty easy if FUNi wants to please the Slayers fans by getting the original voices back. They could ask NYAVPost to handle the dubbing work, especially since they seem to know Mike Sinterniklaas pretty well.
