FUNimation Licensing Blitz Coming

because their translations are TOO perfect. just look at Eureka Seven and Gurren Lagann to see what i'm talking about. if they stick too close to the Japanese version, it's gonna be a mess. they need to do what Funimation did with Shin-Chan. i mean granted most of the humor in this series is universal, but there's a lot of obscure references people won't get.

Yes!!
I love Slayers, and I can't wait to get both Slayers Revolution and Evolution-R!!

This is why most of us avoid fangirls at cons
If comedy is your thing I recommend you give it another chance

Yeah, I can pretty much see that happening, it could also wind up on Comcast's Anime Selects on DEMAND, who recently started showing more FUNimation titles due to a deal with the FUNimation channel

I hope Funimation picks up the licence to Utena one day. I missed out on most of the original DVRAB and it would be nice to have a boxset. I don't think it'll happen since the fandom is small in America and there's nothing new going on with the franchise in Japan; but I'd love it if Funimation proved me wrong!

Thanks for the link! I didn't even know that portal site existed until now!

Every fandom has its crazy, stupid fans (especially the really popular shows). You shouldn't let them ruin the show for you.

Though I do sympathize with your story. I was pretty freaked out when I sturabled on a Xellos fansite called "Kill David Moo" a while back.

Soul Eater, last I knew, was only supposed to have a 51 episode run, putting it in a different boat. Unless something's changed, it's already more than half over with. That's more a Fullmetal Alchemist situation than a Naruto, Bleach, or One Piece.

*reaRAB though the spoilery convo's*

Heehee, awesome. And I do hope the last two are Trigun and Gintama. THAT WOULD MAKE MY YEAR FOR THEY ARE MY FAVORITE ANIME/MANGA!!!!!!!!!!

It'd be hard to make tricky clues for both of those too... I mean, Trigun's stuff's pretty obvious, and anyone who's spent five minutes watching Gintama'd be able to slip into that minRABet.

Hell, the clues for the other show involving souls woulda worked for Gintama - Silver Soul, Gintoki likes pie... XD

I've only seen a few clips of Gintama on Youtube, but it's enough for me to say that, if the series is licensed, I'll buy it. It seems just like the kind of insane random comedy-type of show that I tend to enjoy. In the meantime, I'm probably gonna watch it on Crunchyroll too, unless the stream is region-locked again.

Also, PLEASE, FUNI, LICENSE SOUL EATER!!!

While I'm certainly glad FUNimation has Last Exile, how was it shafted before? I ask because the boxed set I bought had a Lavie figure and a neat mousepad. Sadly, I don't think I've ever watched the DVD's (even though I've seen the series) because my backlog of anime is just so massive, there never seems to be time for older anime I've already watched.

Watch them licenses like a ton of obscure stuff like Mamotte Shugogetten or Sugar Sugar Rune. Do you know what either of those anime series are? No, I didn't think so.

Or they say, "Here is one of our super-awesome announcements....WE'VE LISCENCED THE REST OF KEIICHI....Okay see you tommorow."

You know if FUNi ever wants to break out into a mons franchise, I hope they bring over Onmyo Taisenki. It's obscure but it's all levels of awesome. In fact, it's the only mons show I've ever liked more than Digimon Tamers.

If CN cared about beating Nick, then they would be "getting good shows that could rake in tons of ratings". If an anime performed as well as Family Guy, AS would be airing it twice a day, no doubt.

Anyways, internet response =/= actual viewers. AS learned that the hard way when they picked up Code Geass.
