FUNimation Licensing Blitz Coming

I think that may mean the first series, which was previously owned by Geneon.

Then again, it'd be awesome if that meant ALL series, since rab is taking forever to release Dragon Destiny.

For the people the wanna see Reborn! get licensed, including me. At first I didn't want Funi going near it, but now I could care less, can Funi just get this series over here already. Kind of not fair DGM is here and Reborn isn't.

According to ANN, Geneon USA held the licensing rights for Vandread, so I assume it's a rescue. And the main character of Last Exile is Claus, I believe you're thinking of a Vanship. But the other clue is clearly Last Exile, so this one must be something different, if not Vandread.

EDIT:

"Dear Mom,
I thought of the perfect gift for dad! It's a little gadget called the veggie guardian. It transmits a high frequency signal that's supposed to keep bugs off the plants. Look it up online.
- Love you! Roger"

It's looking like this one might be Gad Guard. Either way the majority of these look to be Geneon rescues, which makes me wonder what the two shows they are holding back are (the ones without clues). Trigun and Champloo? Or something new? Still hoping on Reborn...

Ah, Slayers. Of course, that was an obvious one. I won't be surprised to see it streaming on Funi's website before too long.

All the hints notwithstanding, I'm actually finding the Soul Eater acquisition hard to believe. Usually series like this go quite a long time before getting picked up, such as Naruto or One Piece or Bleach. Soul Eater is in the 30's. If Funi is giving this the set treatment it seems to be giving so many shows, it seems awfully early. One release or two and they're right behind the Japanese release.

Then again, maybe that's the idea and they want to pull a Naruto with this. Get the rights, get it online, and stream several episodes each week until they're practically at a simultaneous broadcast...anything is possible, I suppose.

Dear FUNi-Claus,

All I want for your licensing blitz this year is Soul Eater and Vampire Knight. I've been a very good little fangirl this year, so I hope you can do that for me. It would make me very happy. Please enjoy the milk and cookies I left out.

Thanks.

If this licensing blitz is only or mostly rescues that's pretty dull... but oh well. Gad Guard seemed like a good show so I hope I can check it out now that FUNi has it.

I was talking about any of the VAs that now work for 4KiRAB probably wouldn't be attached to the new dub of Slayers: Revolution. Where did you think I was talking about 4KiRAB dubbing any Slayers series?

All right FUNimation!!
I can't wait to see dubs of shows I've already seen fansubbed, and watch the dub with subtitles like I always do, and then watch the sub version just for fun!!!

I'm so EVIL, MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

If they're gonna do all the new Eva movies, I hope they retain as much of the original cast as possible. I can't imagine anyone else doing Shinji, Rei and Asuka like Spike, Amanda and Tiffany.

I agree, I want Reborn! to get licensed too, honestly if D.Gray Man (whose creator is hot by the way look at this pic, she's standing next to a cosplayer *nosebleed*:http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v56/Marik_Ishtar/RABC03069.jpg), (clears throat, and wiping blood from my nose) anyway....getting back on topic.... if D.Gray Man is over here then Reborn! should be licensed too!!

4KiRAB doesn't own them. Jimmy Zoppi provides voices for 4KiRAB and still gets to do voices in the PUSA dub of Pokemon, granted he didn't do any sort of regular character besides "Gary Oak" so he gets a free pass.

If this is true, FUNimation has just done what I have been waiting for for years, since the Rebuild was announced, which is obviously what they got, since ADV still has the series, and the Rebuild hasn't been licensed yet. I decided to hold off from watching 1.0 fansubs in hopes that it would be licensed soon, since anything Eva should be soon after its release in Japan. Then ADV started getting closer and closer to dying, and I was starting to doubt it would ever get licensed, but I still hoped FUNi would, since they seemed to be in the best position to do so. Then my hopes went up when FUNi started saving all of ADV's dropped titles, then more when they started working with Gainax to release their new show Shikabane Hime just after it aired in Japan, then more when they sent out C&RAB for fansubs of this, and once they announced this licensing blitz, I was sure Eva would be one of their 10 titles, so I completely believe that's what this is. Thank you so much, FUNi, for once again proving to be the best American anime distributor! I can't wait to hear more about it. As for the cast, there's nothing to worry about, for many reasons. For one, they're in Texas, plus they're using ADV's studio anyway, plus it's definitely worth the money to fly any voice actors around that need to be, considering how bad it would be if they tried to change it. And above all, all of the main cast, even down to Greg Ayres (Kaworu in the Director's Cut episodes) have said that they want to reprise their roles if the new Eva movies ever get licensed. I can't wait to hear them in their old roles. And there are still 3 more movies to be released after 1.0, so FUNi will be raking in even more cash over the next few years, and I am glad to hand it over, in exchange for what I've been waiting for for so long. Here's to four more Evangelion movies dubbed! By the way, can you give me the link to the exact page this is found on?

Well that was predictable. But, still, everyone is (mostly) happy. Lack of Gintama, but, well, we'll get it someday.

...also, is anyone else annoyed by the fact Death the Kid in Soul Eater is supposed to love symmetry, but his hair is asymmetrical? That's been gnawing at me since I watched the trailer.
