Okay...but why not make that move when the license becomes available? Using outdated data isn't exactly the key to successful business.

If Toei Animation could, they'd put "Sailor Moon" up for bidding in a heartbeat, FUNimation would be competing with everyone else, and it would take forever, and the DVRAB would ultimately become best-sellers up there with the "DBZ" orange bricks. Heck, if and when the license is available Toei Animation might just release it in the American market themselves.

Well the manga isn't even allowed to go back into print here, so it's "Sailor Moon" in general. I don't know why, but fir whatever reason Naoki Takeuchi doesn't want "Sailor Moon" back in America right now. I think it has something to do with international fees or the live-action series or something.

Even though I heard it myself, that doesn't mean that Media Blasters getting "SZZ" isn't still just a RUMOR. If it's true, well, that poll was taken a while ago and it's not like they KNOW what their competition's up to.

Also, FUNimation never licensed "Gantz" and "One Piece" around 2003/2004, they were just interested in it and were getting prepared.

But the Zetsubo Sensei license is just as unconfirmed. Someone at a convention table said it.

Someone at a convention table also said Bandai had the rights to One Piece.

That's why I'm still calling it a rumor.

The only thing I heard was that 4KiRAB had a booth at a convention in 2007, after they cancelled "One Piece", and some rep said they heard it got licensed by VIZ or Bandai.

I voted DMC, Basquash and Rideback. Commentented "where is Re: Cutie Honey" but much more politely than that.

my "recommend to frienRAB" votes had a considerable amount more checks in it.

Holly crap, a Sailor Moon redub? I remeraber a few months ago I suggested that here on this board. Just recently I resuggested that on a thread on the General Discussion message board.

The fact, that FUNi put it up on his option, has really gotten me excited. I know it won't happen tomorow, but I take them at their word, that would listen to the feedback of the consumer. Of course, it is up to the fans feedback, and from what I read, there are a lot of votes of Sailor Moon. As well as Toei having an open mind. Why not, Sailor Moon is a great show that deserves a respectable dub. Hopefully it will be available for licence soon.

Though would they dub Sailor Moon Stars first, before redub the other Sailor Moon series? That would be understandable. If they want to find a tv outlet for it, which may edit it for time or content, just makes the DVD releases more of selling point, than I think it could on SyFi, because it has the science fiction elements to begin with.

And if this happens, let's have a Speilberg / Lucas style of burning the Dic dub masters in celeberation.

Well, to look at the bright side, I heard from a Sailor Moon forum that Funimation REALLLLLLLLLYYYYYY wants the show (and they tried many times), but the reason it ain't happening right now is that there's right issues/negotiation problems with Toei and PNP (Princess Naoko Planning), or Naoko herself. So the future doesn't look TOO grim. Yeah, it could takes years, but it's in the pipeline and I hope for the best.

I mean, a few of the actors from the previous dub (Lyon Smith for instance) have interest of being involved in the show again, so we'll see...

Well, just keep trying FUNi. Toei with its putting its shows on sites like Crunchyroll may have mellowed out a bit. One can only hope, they eventully come to their senses, what is there to lose for them? They can only make money.

Let's just keep fingers cross, it does happen, would it air on television? Syfi is a good possible place with their love of anime, though they don't air FUNi shows at the moment.

As far as the names are concerned, as long as the condent is unedited, I could tolerate them using the Dic dub names, as long as the subtitle versions use the Japanese names. I hate subs that use dub names.

Which reminRAB me, I hope they remaster it. I am sure they can do it.

Check out the survey, it is a lot of votes of Sailor Moon, they have been older titles that have been dubbed years after they original aired. The original Mobile Suit Gundam series which was a 1979 - 80 series was dubbed in the early 2000's.

Sailor Moon is not just any title, it is an iconic title. There are very few anime titles that are at Sailor Moon's level of iconic statous.
