Hello, there! I'm currently fundraising for Team in Training, which is part of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Participants are trained for an endurance event while we raise a certain amount of money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Now, I've done this before, and darn it, fundraising is HARD! Especially now, during such a hard economy. So we've done a fundraising event so far, plus asked people we knew, and haven't gotten many donations.
If anyone has any background or practice fundraising, can you give me some tips? I've gotten a lot of ideas from other people, but it seems like you have to know people in order to get nice locations and good deals on events. And I would like to work with what I know and what I have, but I don't have much to work with, and what I know is animals, which doesn't really help in this situation.
I've had the idea that on a nice day, I could try and sell handmade Christmas ornaments in front of a store, but I don't know if I will get kicked out. Is there a process on how to do this?
Basically, any tips would be great. I have a lot of funds to make up with a short amount of time, and I want something that won't need to take too much time to begin. Thanks for reading, and I really hope people can give good suggestions and can help me out.
