FullMetal Alchemist New Series 2009

I've liked them so far myself and the same with episode 5, the fight scenes in it between Ed and Scar and Armstrong and Scar were great, it must suck not being able to use your power in the rain though.

I haven't read through the 9 or so pages I've missed since I'm on limited time at the moment, but how is FMA so far? Excellent? Good? Mediocre? Bad?

I'm planning to do a massive catch-up of Anime after exams are over. And I'm wondering if FMA should be on that list.

Roy? Yeah, Bradley has a pretty good grasp on him now.
I mean, because of the manga, you know why Selim isn't Bradley's weak spot.
But Riza? Yes, Roy's weak spot. Not to mention shipping his subordinates all over Amestris.

You may of read the manga so know what the real story is like, but for me who hasn't read the manga the original series was pretty awesome.

I know but they have to suck in an audience including the people who watched the first series. People who watched the first will probably be the majority of the new audience as well.

Wow it was nice to see how this was animated. I bought the first box set of episodes on blu ray the other day.

Edit: Actually I didn't buy it. My credit card earns like thank you points so I used those towarRAB it. And just checked the mail and it came today.

I know my bad I didn't see the other thread talking about Edward's arm and stuff so I put it in there. But since we wanna talk about Brotherhood and how ist a remake won't it feel repetitive if some of it will be like the first series up till the point the first series start going in a different direction then the manga?

Tons of questions were answered and it's definintely more interesting but I can't say they were all perfectly executed. There were some things that could have been handled better.

If you were to associate FMA Characters to real world ones, what would they might be?

Here's a few of mine:

King Bradley: Wilhem II/Hitler
Hohenheim: Paracelsus
Homonculi in the alchemists world: demons in the real world.

And so, the main reason of why they can't use alchemy is because they came beyond the gate? As in the case of envy, he/she eventually become a leviathan when crossing the gate, and actually, the leviathan which is the demon of envy.

They each represent 1 of the 7 deadly sins.
Peter Binsfeld paired each of the deadly sins with a demon, who tempted people by means of the associated sin. According to Binsfeld's classification of demons, the pairings are as follows:

* Lucifer: pride
* Mammon: greed
* Asmodeus: lust
* Leviathan: envy
* Beelzebub: gluttony
* Satan/Amon: wrath
* Belphegor: sloth

So, if for example, King Bradley(Pride) had to cross the gate, he will eventually become Lucifer in the real world?

Ed/Al: Maybe Paracelsus sons?

As for characters like Roy Mustang, Maes Hugues, Basque Grand, Dante, Scar, I don't know with which real person I'll associate them to?

And a few questions:
- The ishbal war might be world war 1 or 2?
- FMA takes place in Germany around 1915?
- The State Military is the German army in our world?
- How old were Ed, Al and Winry when Trisha Elric was deceased? And does this takes place in the same year that they burnt their house(1910) or before that?

This might look weird but I'm so addicted to FMA that I want to associate them to real world ones so that I can learn more about them.

Nah I read the manga after seeing the first show, and I still didn't find it all that great. It was enjoyable, but the pacing sucked.

I think I know what your getting at, also he even implied what happened while the Colon was talking to Ed. I didn't even read the manga and now I know my suspicions are true.
