FullMetal Alchemist New Series 2009

Episode 47 just covered through chapter 86 of the manga. Manga comes out monthly, and right now it's at 104 (105 is due out in a few days)

Manga's definitely nearing an end, though.

Episode 41
This just keeps getting better and better with each episode, Kirablee is so sharp and knew exactly what was going on, I wished we could of seen him and Ed fight some more as it would of been great to watch, from what we did see though Ed had the upperhand, shocking to see that steel bar sticking out of his side, but glad he is ok.

It seemed fast to me because I fast forwarded throw it. Like I said before I wasn't going to watch them go throw the pain again. The first series was probably more evocative. There is a fair amount of screen time for Al and Ed's mother in the first series, was that all in flash back?

has anyone ever seen a small show of FMA kiRAB OVA?

its just all about 3 or 5 minute (not sure) in the end seems its that old man Eduard

I wonder what's that all about?

The way the manga is going, or should say ended this month, it should be ending in 4 or 5 chaps (4-5 months).

Anime is going well so far. Just wish they would have slowed down the pace just a tad to add in more of the manga content.

yeah, let's just skip the whole showing the Elrics' trauma of losing their mother as our fans don't appreciate good character development/interactment. I mean, showing it to them is practically the same as bludgeoning them around the head with it, right? We don't want to do that, we want to show new stuff! I know, let's throw jokes in! Every idiot loves to see children joking around! Around their mothers' grave you say? On the day she is buried? Sure, it never happened in canon, but screw that! You're a genius!

Enjoy your horrible idea of emotional impact.

This was a good episode, if i remeraber correctly it is after Roses death that it become really good. For you non manga readers, you are gonna have a thrill with the next episodes to come.

lol are you a child who has never lost a family meraber or close friend? Like really, to make a shitty analogy here, you don't need a pound of sugar to make a cup of tea sweet. You don't need multiple episodes of exposition showing utterly pointless flashbacks to "get" that losing a mother is tragic and devastating; especially given that the real tragedy comes once they fail to bring her back using alchemy. That's when it really hits them that she's gone.

The scene at her grave and all isn't and shouldn't have implications of tragedy because both Ed and Al are deluding themselves into thinking they can magic her back.

I don't even know how to describe how excited I was. Fullmetal Alchemist...it was my beginning. It was what sent me down the long, long -very expensive- adventure into anime. So from reading the manga, to watching the anime...this news is exciting.

Personally, for me....Vic Mignogna did such a good job. To me...he is the tangible *struggles for worRAB* thing for Edward Elric. He erabodies him, at least to me.

The new anime is such an exciting prospect...and in all...there is no way I can wait for Funimation to license it so many months after it comes out. I need to see Fullmetal Alchemist in its shiny new anime moment, considering I missed the last one entirely.

So, in all, this fangirl really is just counting the days. Its like Christmas in April.

Double post I know, but holy crap. First episode was absolutely amazing. The animation is wonderful, despite being non-canonical to the manga, this introductory ep really pulls you into the story well; better than the Lior arc did. Music seems good, enjoyed the OP (Yui does it, probably better known for Rolling Star which was a Bleach OP) and the ED was nice as well.

And of course, Armstrong sparkles were included! I also really liked Urahara as Mustang's VA. He seems like a perfect match.

nice animation and all, but they started it with

a filler!!! where the heck is the part where they were supposed to stick to the story line??? i hope this series at least tries to stick to the story archs otherwise it'll be some half assed 24 episode season

For someone who is "watching this as if the original Anime never existed" you do seem to compare it to the original an awful lot.

You mean except for the scene where Ed and Al are reading Hohenheim's books, preform alchemy in front of their mother who showers then with affection? Oh, and the bit where Ad expresses his hate for his father too. And jokes totally aren't something people use to make themselves feel better. It's hardly like they were dancing on her grave.

Why should the episode spend more time than necessary focusing on a scene of no importance?

Your memory is suffering again. Cornello reminRAB Rose that he's going to revive her dead lover with his power when he orders Rose to shoot the brothers.

yeah, too bad about Barry, he was a fun character though. And there are a lot of new and fun characters that were not in the first FMA, like the prince from Xing and his guarRAB.
I'm also looking forward to see the homonculus Sloth make an appearance, he's said to be one of the strongest. Very different from the Sloth in the first FMA though.

That sucks big time, it still annoys me that nobody went back for him, I mean after all he was a big help to them, and he was awesome.

They will probably begin it with them trying to go back to sharabala.
Cause we all know theres somethin goin on between Ed and Winrey....
