FullMetal Alchemist New Series 2009

I absolutely loved the Nina episode =] It went exactly how the manga portayed it. Though I am bummed they skipped the introduction of Yoki since he'll play crucial roles/comedy releif in the future.

There is the difference in our opinions. You are trying to compare it to the original while I am just taking it as a whole new experience. Personally since the story has split off from the original I have been hooked. I also never watched the original subbed so I really don't mind the voice acting. As for the music I think that is awesome. I have liked all the opening and closing themes as well as the music within the actual show.

The ED song is incredible yes.

And about the episode....yeah too much happened in half an hour. Like Maybe Hughes and Armstrong could have appeared after an episode or two? Bu since this was supposed to be a filler episode I won't hold that against the anime.

Good first episode. Wanting more!!

Episode 02 - i thought it was all quite quick...i felt as if i was watching a summary of what had happened in the past rather than a full episode. Actually that's the feeling i get from this entire series so far. I don't think there's anything wrong with the art, animation, voice acting, or characters. It's done well, and brings back nostalgia for me and other FMA fans. I think it's all quite similar to the original - it just seems like i'm watching the "lite" version of the original FMA with a ton of cuts and edits done to make it shorter and easier to swallow - which is great for FMA noobs but not so much for us FMA fans.

FullMetal Alchemist creator Hiromu Arakawa stated on the jacket of FMA volume 20, that a new Television anime series is in the works, to be released 2009.
-It is a reboot adaption of the Manga
-Year-long showing (like last series, 50-52 episodes)
-Starting in april 2009, taking the slot occupied by Code Geass R2/Gundam 00

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!^_^ *jumps up and down and celebrates*

I really didn't mind the few voice changes since I prefer the dub anyways. I just wish they get as much of the original cast depriving their roles once again. Even if Aaron hit puberty long ago he should be around 16/17 by now? Alphonse spans 14 to 15 in the manga so I don't think it's much of a dfference if he adjusts his voice a little more childish

Hey there guys, I realize that so far this show hasn't done anything extraordinarily different from the first, but please properly spoiler things like character deaths. This version of FMA has definitely brought about viewers who never saw the first one and may not have read the manga. Just asking you be a bit more considerate, thanks!

It literally took all day for me to find a HQ sub that worked, to find codecs to play mkv, to convert to mp4, then to transer with the higherst visual and audio quality from my computer to my PS3 which in turn is connected to my HD tv.

I'm that much of fan. Someone who's been with the series since the manga started and sharing the main characters namesake and brotherly bonRAB (since I'm a twin), is a series that I can relate too. I was dazed finding out that it would be a true manga adaptation also =)

Only seen 12, 13 on it's way, but, I'm happier with the pacing of this season. It's faster and more interesting.

While it's not majorly different, I still see a fair few differences to the first season. Very happy with this one, especially the quality of animation.

Yeah but the thing is, the pacing on the first show sucked.

This isn't specifically directed at you so please don't be offended, but I know people hold the first show up in high regard, but it wasn't very good; especially compared to the manga. Yes the pacing feels faster, but there's really no reason to waste 3+ episodes on what can quite easily be shown in one. I mean, there's no end to the complaining in shows like Naruto or Bleach, or about anything else when you wind up with multiple eps of filler. Now we've actually got a competent studio presenting the story how it should be done.

Keep in mind some scenes in the anime had nothing to do with the real storyline. Comparing the two shows is going to become really silly probably somewhere around episode 15, maybe a bit sooner. Obviously everyone is entitled to their criticism, but I think too many people are going into this expecting it to stay true to the previous anime for some reason, when it's explicitly stated that simply isn't the case.

Just finished twenty-three. School started so I forgot all about it till now.

Good episode. I liked to see Al fighting. More so, I liked how close it was to the manga. I don't remeraber the exact parts of the manga, but I remeraber Lan Fan's 'trick' from the manga and thought it was cool that they had put it in.

Man. Lin was awesome too. Loved the part with Gluttony.

Favorite moment in episode 52:

When Olivier's on the ground, and the Central troops bust in, under orders that she be shot on sight. Then the homunculus army breaks in, the troops have no idea what's going on, and she grabs the guy's gun hand and forces him to put the barrel of the pistol right up against her forehead and commanRAB him to basically grow a pair and make a choice one way or the other.

Now -that- was badass, and even a slight improvement on the manga version, where she simply leaned her head up to the gun.

Yea the episode was solid. This series does not ever let up with the action that is for sure. I can never tell if Hohenheim is actually worried or just trying to play it off like he is.

Ok so this new season will have the same start as the last season but then go a different way when it gets into the 20's??

Episode 3 is up.

Father Cornello...Priest. Sham. TERMINATOR!
....okay I guess you have to see the episode to get that joke but I don't care. It was pretty good.
