FullMetal Alchemist New Series 2009

I used to be one of the "This series can't be better than the first one" crew, then I realised I was wrong, by a long shot, this series is insane.

Just got done watching ep 24. Yet again another good ep.

Seems the military knew about the Fuhrer all along. Also Next ep we get to see how Edward and Envy get out of there predicament.

But I am kind of confused on it cause I was re-reading FMA cause well I love it but what about that part where Edward turned rocks or dirt or something I forget into Gold. Now how did he make gold out of that cause would that mean gold is made up of that element or what?

i cant wait anymore.
There is a preview for the upcoming FMA. Unfortunetly all is says it there is more information coming. Sadly I can't say where I got it due to A4 rules....but it does exist.

.

As a faithful fan of the manga, after seeing three episodes, I don't really have many complaints about this new series. Like I said, they're really faithful with the manga's atmosphere, which truthfully for me feels kinda weird when all that gets animated. But they managed to do it in a such a way which makes me comfortable to watch it. I mean, yeah, the jokes about Ed's height had always and still does frown me in the anime though I find myself grinning when I read it. Though the quick pace is actually a good thing in such away since making this stuff 'dramatic' certainly isn't easy.

Besides, once again, they have such a vast amount of story material to animate. And for us who already have an idea where the plot will go, seeing slightly strange things like how Cornello makes his last stand is actually a bit of a blessing.

In the end, I guess I won't be finding anything really surprising from this. But so far, I'm enjoying it.

No comments on episode 36 yet? Holy crap that was good.

Now those who haven't seen the manga can see the true extent to which Olivier Armstrong is a TOTAL BADASS. Stabbing Raven's wrist, slashing his torso open, and having him sink into the concrete while he was STILL BREATHING. I was waiting for that moment since she showed up.

One of the few moments where they improved on the manga, as they actually showed his face sinking into the cement.

The "monster" in the shadows ([blackout]actually Pride[/blackout]) was as creepy as imagined, and coupled with the killing of Gen. Raven and the Winry hostage situation, probably makes this one of the darker episodes in the series so far. Love it.

I really liked ep 46. Was Father putting his hand on her shoulder during the preview for the next episode because if not I missed that. I don't watch the previews. I think Al is in a pretty bad situation as well.

Like I said, on that part it's a little confusing because while, true, he did temporarily transmute coal into gold, he also needed very precise elements to even attempt to transmute a human body.

But my opinion above about transmuting food still stanRAB. Just about anything that has been transmuted in the series has always been an internally consistent substance like metal. Well, there was the radio being repaired in Lior, but even that was pieces being rearranged to their prior state and not something done on a molecular level.

Six was a nice chilled episode away from the main storyline really, Armstrong can be too funny when he goes into one of his stints about Ed and Al or about his muscles

It was a awesome and sad episode, it made me feel sick the first time round and even more so this time, the voice Park Romi used was exceptional in expressing Ed's feelings towarRAB Tucker, question for manga readers without any spoilers please, is the manga (and this anime adaption) as dark as the original story was?

I wonder how Aaron Dismuke thinks about how because since he is too old he can't do the voice role of Al cause I bet he really enjoyed doing the voice.

Wow. I just watched it.

That was amazing. I have to say, everything was great. The animation looked so good, I was shocked. This new episode with the Ice Alchemist really drew me in.

I did get a little depressed when I saw Hughes -obviously- but, him with his little Elysia. Aww. I loved seeing Armstrong. I got so much fricken nostalgia. And of course, Edward. He looked way cooler this time around. Roy getting drenched...*rolls eyes*, they still keep it comical. Especially with Armstrong heaRAB flying around.

I liked the opening as well. Yui always does a fantastic job. As said, the only bad part is waiting for the next episode.

This remake is definitley going to be very, very, amazing!

I am super stoked for future episodes!

Episode 61- holy crap I pretty much nailed the defintion of "god" in FMA right on the freaking head. I kind of knew it because Father mentioned wanting to be a perfect being so I thought god in FMA is a perfect entity makes sense?

Also holy ****en **** the counterattack was awesome and if it wasn't for that they would be pretty much dead and I really didn't expect that (especially the eclipse) ; scars technique was a good addition. I was extremely interested in fathers god form. He could do absolutely anything coudln't he?

BTW the part where Wrath is " I don't believe in god" bam the beam of light strikes his eyes giving scar the edge that part was freaking incredible.

Overall episode was freaking awesome.

Episode 56 was action packed. I didn't expect that he could converse with the philosophers stone. This has potential for Edward. Also, king bradley is more of a badass then I previously thought it will be tough. If hohenheim was here he would be gone in a heartbeat lol.

Episode 53: Good freaking lord.

This is exactly what I imagined when I read this in the manga, and even moreso.

The animation was amazing, the voice acting was top notch, and it all looked so freaking awesome when...

Mrs. Bradley gave an interview over the radio.

Just kidding. Though I did like the "PR" elements of Mustang's coup, with the radio broadcast getting word out, and bringing favor to Mustang's side, even through using half truths.

The Envy flamerape was intense, even moreso than the battle with Lust. Envy is a total ass, even more than usual in this episode, and seeing him taunt Roy about Hughes' murder got -me- a little pissed, to say nothing about Roy, who somehow seems even angrier here than he did in the manga.

Roy is a fascinating character. He seems to be a cool and collected guy most of the time, but I think that he can be very much driven by emotion- like his decision to go after the furher's title after Ishval, how he's so disgusted with himself that he believes he should be in prison for his war crimes, and of course Hughes. All these emotions that have been bottled up are now exploding, and it takes what other anime might just make into a kickass fight scene and take it into a much darker place. This isn't Mustang triumphantly kicking ass, this is Mustang consumed by rage. It's at the point where the target would have to be a total asshat like Envy for me to not feel sorry for the victim.

By the way, I LOVE this picture of Mustang:

Great rendition of the final page of manga chapter 93.

I missed one of the clips once... it changed a lot of things in my brain afterward. Don't miss it... and plus the closing is pretty good too lol

I really like episode 2. A couple of the scenes and animation they had made me stop and do a double take. They're good. A lot better than I expected.

So far it's interesting watching this one play out as an anime. I think most people will look at this and at least think the plot issues surrounding the gate were better handled. There were a couple of things I was really please with. I liked the way Ed and Al were portrayed when Mustang first arrived. It wasn't ho, ho let's go. They at least tried to portray the despair they felt. Kinda.

And I liked the scenes with Winry and Riza. Even if they seemed quick. You get a better sense of what Winry's facing herself.
