It's an ugly day here on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. It's 50 F and raining heavily.
When the local Farmer's Market called to tell me that I could come pick up the lemon tree that I ordered I would totally have been justified in telling them I'd wait until tomorrow. Then I thought, why not have an adventure?! Little adventures are good for the soul.
Traffic was heavy. The roads were flooded. And I got totally soaked with rain from head to toe. It was an adventure alright.

Still, I got my pretty lemon tree. And I also go a kumquat tree that was covered with fruit.
But I couldn't ignore the scent of strawberries. The Farmer's Market was loaded with baskets and baskets of Louisiana strawberries so fresh that they still had garden soil clinging to them. I absolutely had to have a basket of strawberries.
I could hardly wait to get home! And when I did, I stood there (still dripping wet from the cold rain) at the kitchen sink rinsing off strawberries one by one and eating them while the juice ran down my chin.
Life doesn't get any better than that. :glow:
