Free installation?

Okay my brother in law wants to get BEV and he is asking me some questions on which i don't have the answer for.

He wants to know is the installation free? He already has a bev dish(the older version) installed on the roof and 1 brand new and factory sealed 4120 receiver with a brand new dish(no contract ofcourse).

The reason he doesn't want to use the dish that is already installed is because the signal sucks its around 52%-56%. The best I have seen it at is 71%. We live next door to each other and my dish is also on the roof but i get 88%-91% signal. I hooked up my receiver to the dish and he gets most channels except for 3 TSN2(401), KTLA(298), & Chek(216) and he needs TSN2 for NHL Hockey and my sister likes to watch CW shows on KTLA.

Also if he has to pay does Bell ExpressVu(Bell Tv) bill him or does he have to pay the installer? In 2001 when i become a customer I had to pay $199 and I had to make the cheque out to the installer. Not sure how things work now.

Free installation is tied to a 2 year term, be it Rental or if you buy the receiver.

If there is an old Dish on the Roof, why not just try to realign it to get better signal.?

You could even just use the mount and put the new Dish onto that.

An installer should NEVER be taking any cheques or other payments, all billing is done by Bell, 7 years ago it was different.

I would think that worst case scenario, have a go at doing it yourselves, if you can't get it aimed better then just call for a Service Call, $75.

That is of course if you have already activated the receiver and you are now a Customer. Bell are sometimes not that smart and you might even get a "Warranty" Service Call, even though you did your own installation.....lol

99$ for the original installation + 50$ per additionnal receiver

Probably just need a realignemenet

Okay to clarify the two contradicting posts above:

If our brother signs up for a new service and signs a rental contract his options are this:
Sign a one year term: $99 for the first reciever and $50 for each reciever after that.
No contract: $99 for the first reciever and $50 for each reciver after that.
Sign a 2 year term and all reciever are installed free.
If he buys his reciever the install options are the same as above.

Install always includes a dish. The install will usually take the old dish down and replace it with a new one.

Nem, who likes clarity

Don't quote me...
But rental contracts are only 2 years.
Free installation for new rental contracts/customers.
1 year contracts are only for new purchases, but you have to pay install charges. If you purchase and sign a 2 year contract, I think your dish and 1st receiver (single or dual tuner) are installed free of charge, and then $50 each additional receiver, + the price of any multiswitches that you may need. I hope this clarifies things up a bit, but seeing as I'm not sure, it may not.

I stand by the above statement.

I still say do it yourself and if after activation, you cannot get the Signal Strength high enough, call in for a Service call, $75 max.
