Simpsons Season 19 Archive

Treehouse of Horror XVIII ( 11/11/07)
I Don't want to know why the caged bird sings (10/14/07)
Midnight Towboy (10/7/07)
Homer of Seville (9/30/07)
He Lovs to Fly and D'ohs (9/23/07)

Definitely a great episode in an already great season (aside from Treehouse of Horror). Everything played out a little silly at the end, but I was happy for Milhouse and I felt bad for him when his parents were presumed dead.

However, I had quite a few laughs throughout the whole thing, and Marge and Homer's little plot really had a good end to it. People who claim The Simpsons is dead needs to take a look at this season -- it's solid.

Emo Milhouse...well, it was bound to happen. :p

Odd episode. It was okay, I laughed at a few jokes, though a few of them were cringe-worthy. I like episodes about the Springfield Elementary kids, so I'm glad this wasn't another "marriage crisis" episode, even though I guess the subplot could be categorized as that. It also had a nice look at Bart and Milhouse's relationship. I didn't like the Uncle Norbert character and the ending was stupid. I kind of don't like that his parents are back together..."A Milhouse Divided" was a great episode, but now it doesn't have quite the same effect.
And why did they add voices to the beginning? There's really no reason to.

A mildly enjoyable episode, but I feel like they need to push the character development just a little bit more. They don't seem to approach these stories the right way anymore. I'm just glad they showed us Milhouse's parents alive first so that the rest of the episode didn't seem too mean to laugh at. The Homer & Marge subplot felt weird. Maybe they should keep doing like they did in the beginning of the season and not bother with subplots anymore.

Huh so she has Hazel eyes, I was going to guess something like brown or blue.

Another well done episode, nice to see something centered around Bart than Homer, it was well exicuted and I liked how Bart tried to get attention back on him and his line about trampolines was great too bad I can't remember how it goes. I give this episode a solid B+

Very very weak opening this week. I really dislike the "HOmer is soooo wacky" jokes. The B-plot with the eye color really made up for it though.

This is one of the few recent episodes where you can care about the characters. You feel bad for milhouse when his parents are presumed dead, and happy for him when they are remarried. A lot of the jokes were legitimately funny, like Homer naming various nautical products.

Strong episode, keep it up Simpsons team.

Emo kids aren't THAT cool on the playgrounds these days, are they? I hope not.

This had some good material; I chalk that up to the freelance writer. Only a few jokes were horrible, and they may have been added by the writing staff.

Actually since the writers seem to be undoing every plot change the Simpsons ever had it looks like it will be impossible for Skinner and Krabapple to end up back together.

Not a bad episode really but I just hate that every "change" in the simpsons is being undone. How long before they act like Maude Flanders never died?

Just to nitpick here: Technically the episode wasn't done by a total outsider; Mick Kelly has worked as an assistant to Al Jean on a few occasions. Then again, I don't believe assistants to someone do much writing (though I could be wrong), so by all means and purposes the episode was by a freelancer.

I missed a couple minutes in the middle, but all and all, an enjoyable episode.

We've had 3 meh episodes, a weak Halloween special, and 2 very good episodes so far.

Anyway, I did not like the added SFX and VO's on the opening. Bart Laughing at his own chalkboard gag kinda ruined it.

Other than that, I really liked how this was a Milhouse character episode. Too often does Milhouse fall into the quick gag character category. While he is the funnier of those characters, I really want to see him evolve. This was his episode.

I really love how Bart pointed out the parents look alike, and how it's only a coincidence. And Milhouse's uncle being Indiana Jones was a nice touch.

And call me crazy, whenever we have an episode where Homer and Marge doubt their marriage or get into a fight like that, and then Homer fixes it at the end...well, it just warms my heart. Nice to see that their marriage can be rocky, but can have it's tender moments.

Oh, and Ralph said something coherent and actually funny. Plus, the joke about the rope climbing class actually went somewhere. So they really put together a good episode.

All and all, I give it a 4 out of five.

Hmm, generally decent episode. The plot was solid and the characters acted in all the right ways they possily could at this point in the show's lifespan. I was irked though on yet another Homer and Marge argument, but considering this one didn't have anything that threaten their marriage, it's passable.
