FOX Talkback - Family Guy - Padre de Familia

The one cutaway with the bloody and vomiting Peter putting the bloody kids under the bed was just horrible. The rest of this has been hilarious.

You know the plot to this sounds like something they should of done on American Dad. Like overpatriocism blowing up in Stan's face since it's more "in character" for him. Then again Peter's written enough to be vague enough so that any movement that sweeps into him will make him act full hearted to it. In this one loving his country. And I do have to give credit for FG this time around for actually bothering to come more full circle with the plot: Peter in the end realizes that after living and becoming an illegian immigrant he dosen't have the right to judge them (sort of) and will probably still be hateful of them since no one ever learns a lesson on FG but at least the effort is understandable. Too bad there wasn't really too many good bits. I did like Brian pointing out Peter only knew about 9/11 in 2004, the guy from work who always explains the joke explaining why Peter naming products is funny (only time I really liked one of his things actually), Peter's "birth" in mexico (at least they also bothered to tie in ""Eeter's Two Dads" plot twist to the continuity), Peter failing the immigrant test (though really they've done a much funnier Password Joke in the past in "Wasted Talent"), Peter as a housekeeping maid, the immigrant only being able to list That 70's Show as popular fox comedy (and that's not even on anymore. I suppose if you only counted life action you could not count Back to You but that still only puts it at one show) and Peter misprouncing the guy's name. Like other FG there was a lot of dead air and just grasps for expositions during a lot of it. Not to mention some repeating jokes like the guy backup singing or any of the Cinco De Mayo fesitival stuf wasn't really too enjoyable. Overall better then Simpsons but still not too good a Family Guy.

Changing the channel when a character comes on-screen isn't really realistic because one doesn't know how long a character's appearance will last. If it's a short appearance and the viewer changes the channel for 30 seconds, they could miss a joke that followed the Herbert appearance.

OK, you like Herbert. We get it. But constantly stating and restating that fact over and over again accomplishes just as much as complaining about the complaints, which is to say it accomplishes nothing at all.

Also, you can EDIT your posts as opposed to making an all new one just to post a single sentence.

Look, everyone has opinions, and you gotta respect them, and don't ask them to stop...

But rehashing your statements doesn't add anythign to the conversation, other than 5 seconds of lost life

I respect the opinions of others, I just don't understand why people hate herbert more than the other characters. I guess I care too much about what other people think. how do I stop that? a private message would be nice. should I care what other people think? what should matter to me?

Just stop. Please.

People dislike Herbert not because he's unfunny, but because they tend to use him constantly, in just about every episode. When a character is forced on people that much, they tend to grow tired of him. And that's what's happened with Herbert.

And yes, you care too much about what others think. Just ignore it if it bothers you so much.

People hate Herbert because he's a one-joke character who's overused. Kind of like how we all got sick of The Simpsons's Crazy Cat Lady after they were forcing her into nearly every episode for a while. Or like the "EeeeeYESSSSSS??" guy in previous seasons.
