AMERICAN DAD EPISODE 47 TALKBACK!

SYNOPSIS:
When Hayley decides to move to France because of imperialistic oppression, Stan will do anything to stop her including revealing the fact that she was brainwashed as a child by the CIA. Feeling desperate, Stan activates her trigger word and gains control over Hayley against the advice of his boss, Bullock. Everything is going fine until Stan remembers that if he doesn?t change Hayley back to normal, there will be deadly consequences for him. Meanwhile, Steve and Roger become private Dick Tracys.

Enjoy Everyone!

Dill is hillarous in this episode, hopefully he doesn't become another Herbert, who overstays his welcome.

When Hayley first went into agent mode, she sounded exactly like Numbuh 362 from Codename: Kids Next Door. (the same voice actress I know)

Steve trying to solve a case about Rodger's partner, then flashing back to the previous scene... there was something about that that I thought was hilarious.

And if there's one thing The Simpsons can't do that Family Guy and American Dad can, it's fight scenes. Both of their episodes tonight had very entertaining scenes between major characters and it came off effectively.

And wow the fake out ending was once again pulled aside for something a little different, just like Family Guy's before it.

One other thing: Finally, Claus with more then one line an episode.

B+, I like the fact that each of these characters in this show has some sort of a entertaining backstory to them.

I do give them credit for basically destroying the cliche and having Hayley actually go ahead and shoot Stan, as that was the only logical way for her to snap out of it.

I love how they cop out a cop out.

Pretty fun episode.

I wish the Steve/Roger detective plot had more focus. Maybe an episode of its own would have been better.

It's had good fights before - suspiciously Family Guy-style fights, at that. (Homer vs. that guy in the rabbit suit, Homer vs. George Bush, I think Homer vs. Smithers was like that...)

Hayley in her wedding dress is the best she's looked (for a cartoon character) in the series so far - and Daddy's little girl really kicked her father's ass. Now all she has to do is have a knock-down, drag-out with Steve and she'll have fought the entire family (minus Klaus).

Yeah, I thought about a few of those when writing that, but none of those fights really had the same impact to me, at least. There wasn't as much weight to Homer fighting Smithers to Peter fighting Joe, for instance.

I think I may have grown fond of American Dad, this episode didn't seem that different from the usual AD stuff but I enjoyed it.

nice peter griffin cameo.

I'm glad AD's slumps rarely last for very long. This episode was completely back to form. It's odd how once again the plot had similarities to Family Guy's concurrent episode, but the cool thing about this show is that such a far-out plot doesn't have to be fake. The ending was great ("Who's the talking fish?"), and this episode is probably the best use of Klaus yet. The Roger & Steve subplot was useless as ever, but it was funny and had a satisfying conclusion in and of itself.

Yeah I agree, I love the scenes between Stan and Hayley, those are fun to watch. Just like Stewie and Olivia, when Seth and Rachel have a chance to do scene together, it fun to watch. Especially actully fight, probably flashback to their childhood.

Man I wish Roger and Steve had a whole episode with them rather than a subplot they seem to focus on Stan a little too much. But still that fight scene was great and I loved his conversation with Klaus while trying to read a book and Klaus's response at the end. "Can you teach me to read." Lol. Good solid B on this one.

The Roger/Steve subplot was great, especially when the two had fun watching the cheesy detective shows and tried hiring a random woman who treated it like a serious, real job interview. "Do you have any funny quirks, like answering the phone with dirty limericks?" "...I have three kids... is this a real job or not?"
