Fox Ends "Sit Down, Shut Up".

WHY AM I NOT FRIGGIN' SURPRISED? :mad:

FOX just wants animation shows that involve families. How redundant.

American animation is now dead to me. Thanks, FOX.

Now as you excuse me, I'm gonna go back to the Japanese and Canadian animation bandwagon.
 
Dude...it's just one show there is like a million other american cartoon you could watch.... like Family Guy.
I liked this show slightly but I knew something bad luck was going to hit the show when every episode was given a low percentage on most review sites.
 
There are still animated American comedies out there, maybe Family Guy wasn't the best example, but its one of them.

Anyway, SDSU was an ok show, nothing too wowing from the people behind Arrested Development. Don't get me wrong, it was sort of funny, but they should stick to the smart live action comedies.
 
I am hardly surprised. This is FOX we're talking about! The channel that cancles anything new. Aside from a handful of shows I'm not sure what they kept past one season, both animated and live. I never watched SDSU but I am sad that its cancled. Thats one less animated adult show out there. :/

And what were they thinking airing a new show at 7PM on a Sunday anyways?
 
Well I guess they can try out showing that Bob and Doug show, or maybe even that's been canceled too. Well, I never saw a minute of SDSU, so I never got attached to any characters.

Look, the crtics criticized it for only 1 episode. Think about it. It's like they gave up after only watching the first episode.
 
If the first episode is horrible, why would they want to watch the rest?

It's not as if everyone's raving about how wonderful the second episode was or anything...



I remember there being two or three people on the forum who liked it. Hardly anyone, but hardly anyone likes this show much either.
 
You can't really compare the two shows. They're on two different level of mediocrity. :sweat:

I didn't even bother watching when I saw a picture of the show in a newpaper, plus I had a feeling that this show wouldn't do well after reading the creators motives (Moneyyy!), apparently my beleifs were correct.
 
I think the show got progressively worse. The first couple episodes were bad, but at least it had a few witty lines. If they improved upon the timing the show may have actually been funny. But, then the last two episodes didn't even try. The writing just got lazier and lazier as the show progressed, and they never fixed the timing issues.



The series was DOA. There's no point in a critic staying with a series if it barely has a fanbase and is not going to survive the season, especially when there's many other, better shows for them to watch on Sunday. I mean, a critic can choose to write about Desperate Housewives, Breaking Bad, The Amazing Race, Family Guy, The Simpsons or any other show on Sunday that's higher quality and has a larger fanbase than Sit Down, Shut Up. Why would they waste time writing about Sit Down, Shut Up when the quality hasn't improved and the fanbase hasn't grown? It's rather pointless.

By the way, I haven't actually read through all of the reviews, but usually the amount of episodes a critic reviews depends upon the screeners that a network sends. If Fox only sent them one episode before the premiere, they're probably only going to review one episode.
 
Okay, I read the USA Today review, and there were two episodes made available to critics. So, it's not valid to say the critics judged the series after only one episode. They watched two.
 
I have to say I'm not surprised the show was cancelled. The writers weren't sure really what to do with the concept, and they were trying a bunch of different things out, making one episode better/worse than a previous one (depending on how you look at it). The show's pilot was decent, the next two episodes were meh, and the last episode that aired was okay.
 
I don't understand why people are being asses about people liking this show. If you are just here to bash it and try arguing that it supposedly "didn't have a fanbase" then just leave the thread. It obviously was enjoyed by some people if it is being defended by them.
 
So, you're basically saying that anybody who disagrees with you has to leave the thread, and we're the ones being asses? You know, the title of the thread is "Fox ends Sit Down, Shut Up" so technically if we were to only allow people in the thread who had a positive reaction to the thread title, then all the people who wanted Sit Down, Shut Up to get renewed should leave the thread. But, that would be silly. Dissent is good. Even if you disagree with Fox's intelligent decision to cancel Sit Down, Shut Up, you should still be allowed to stay in the thread.
