Fox Ends "Sit Down, Shut Up".

Yea but that's like trying to polish a turd. It's not like they did a 180 with the second episode review. Slight improvement( going from horrendous to bad is still improvement ) isn't enough to justify keeping the show.

Good, at least the show still has a shot. It deserves it, no show starts out being perfect anyways. It needs room to grow. Everyone trashed American Dad when it started out and now it's the best quality animated show on Fox.

I'll chalk up another win for you, MM.

I mean, if people who had an opinion weren't allowed to speak it, what's the point of an internet forum anyway? It'd make the topics pretty boring.

lolwhut.

I wasn't talking about that and by the tone of your previous post it seemed that you wern't either. If you mean you're happy that shows getting cancled means room for more new shows to air and more variety, then you should have probbaly indicated that in your post. Besides, I think one can argue that companies are already producing crap and don't show any signs of improving but that's for another time.

Far from it. I'm speachless that someone would waste their time watching TV just to celebrate every cancleation. Just because many shows fail dosen't mean we gloat about it.

The difference is that other stations show the entire season while FOX cancles them partway through.

I never said I liked those shows, I just listed them since they're the first shows to come to mind that FOX has treated poorly. IIRC they cancled new Amsterdam before it even aired. When I see networks screw around the timeslots with no warning I see it as them wanting to kill it reather than give it a chance and cancle it. just because the first couple episodes are average/poor/whathaveyou dosen't mean the rest of the series will be like that.

When I made my post I hadn't watched SDSU yet. After watching the first four episodes last night I'm a little sad that it's cancled. Too bad they didn't do more with this premise. :/

NBC with My Own Worst Enemy, ABC with Eli Stone, Pushing Daisies, and Dirty Sexy Money, CBS with The Ex List. And that's just this season. Of course ABC is burning off the unaired episodes of their series in the summer as fodder though, but Fox is apparently doing the same with SDSU, so.

And then there's the fact that SDSU got lower ratings than all of those series to boot. And that's with SDSU having a solid established lead-in and lead-out that should be bringing in the same audience demos that would watch SDSU. The show specifically drove viewers away.

How Fox cancelling this show can be considered different from what any other network does is absurd.

And the ratings were dropping steadily each week in that timeslot it had. It wasn't getting any better, it was getting worse, so why keep trying it in a place where it was clearly failing?

But apparently viewers will magically come if you just leave it in the same spot long enough. It proved pretty quickly that it wasn't going to be able to hold up when it specifically drove viewers away at the 8:30 time.

Seriously Fox had every single reason in the world to cancel this show.

OH HALLELUJAH! :D

I'm glad this show will come back for another run, but I'll be in the UK for vacation! Dang. and I think Hulu and Fox.com have Geo Fencing stuff...

8? I thought there were 13 episodes in product- you, I dont care, as long as this show lives :)

I would query how they decided that SDSU was suitable for the same demographics as The Simpsons. Granted it is an intelligent comedy, but being about a group of teachers, its hardly going to appeal to younger children. Even young teenagers might find it hard to relate to. It should have been promoted to an older audience or shown at a later time. I think that's why it retained so few viewers from the Simpsons.

Every cancellation? Don't be silly. People only celebrate the cancellations of shows they don't like. Let me explain to you how it works. A few years ago, CBS had this show called Close to Home. CBS cancelled it after it's second season and replaced it with Moonlight. Close to Home fans of course, were incredibly pissed off that CBS cancelled their show so they rooted for Moonlight to fail and were overjoyed when it got cancelled. Of course, CBS replaced Moonlight with the Ex List and Moonlight fans were pissed off that CBS cancelled their show and they actively rooted for The Ex List to fail. They were of course overjoyed when The Ex List was quickly cancelled. Now, the next question I'm sure you might ask is "What about fans of The Ex List? Weren't they pissed off at that show's cancellation and did they root for it's replacement, Flashpoint, to fail?" And the answer, of course, is no, because there are no fans of The Ex List.

No, they don't. CBS didn't air all of the episodes of The Ex List. ABC also didn't air all of the episodes of Pushing Daisies or Eli Stone. Speaking of Eli Stone, that's another reason to root for a show to fail: annoying fans. Seriously, if you ever critiqued Eli Stone where other Eli Stones are around, they would flame you to no end for dare decrying what they consider a masterpiece. When news hit that Eli Stone got cancelled, I was overjoyed. It was a real screw you to all those annoying fans.

Wait a minute, you were complaining about Fox cancelling a show when you didn't even see the show?

I dunno, I thought Futurama was pretty good in its first few episodes. I saw potential in the premise, liked the art style, and I laughed at quite a few of the jokes. The same can't be said for SDSU, which I wanted to like (as it had some good names in the production crew), but ultimately didn't. There's no evidence to support the theory that Fox only cares about domestic family sitcoms simply because it cancelled SDSU. Bottom line, SDSU got below average ratings; that's what caused its cancellation.
