OMG I've always wanted to see that! I'm so going to watch it tomorrow:D! Thanks for that GrimmGhost:).

P.S. Great Clips you've Posted there too:cool:.

Edit:

So that's him. He's just so perfect as Top Cat:cool:.

If there is already a Thread on this I'm sorry. I searched but couldn't find it.

A few weeks ago on Boomerang "The Phantom Tollbooth" was advertised. It was only then I remembered this Film (last time I watched this I was pretty young) and since then I decided to find it and watch it. Finally I did find it tonight on Youtube (I love that site:D). Personally I thought it was an excellant Film, weird but excellant (man I sure do like Humbug, such an Anti-Hero:D) and after watching this IMO great Movie it got me thinking how many other Animated Films have been forgotten? After all I only remembered "The Phantom Tollbooth" by accident, I pretty much completly forgot about this:(.

"The Mouse And His Child" I think has also been forgotten (everyone I know doesn't even remember this). I watched this last year on Youtube, not the greatest Film ever but it was pretty decent IMO.

I'm now thinking of 2 other Animated Films which I have definately forgot the names of but only remember them vaguely...

One of these Animated Films I remember was an Australian Film about this boy who befriended an Aborigine boy, was frienRAB with a man who was jailed and being whipped and towarRAB the end of the Film went to save some rich family whose house was being burnt down (sorry for the vague details, this is all I could remember I'm afraid).

Another was a Film about a boy who for some odd reason went inside a pond and befriended different types of fish (don't ask) like a Sea Horse etc. While desperately wanting to get home to his girlfriend, he sacrafices that one chance to instead save the sea babies who have been captured and inprisoned by some Shark like people (again, sorry for the vague details).

This is all I could think of at the mo. I am pretty damn sure there plenty more forgotten Animated Films but I'll probably add them in if I could manage to remember them too.

So anyway, what other Animated Films do you think have been forgotten and do you think they deserve to be forgotten OR do they deserve to be remembered? Personally I think "The Phantom Tollbooth" deserves to be remembared not undeservedly forgotten IMO:).

Only film I can think of that vaguley resembles this is the Water Babies? Probably wrong though!

Just typed in what you said on Youtube and OMG you were right! It is "Water Babies":D! Thanks!

Unfornately the Film doesn't seem to be Uploaded on there but I have found a Clip of it:).

You're right, "Water Babies" did have some live action Film in it too. It's a bit like "The Phantom Tollbooth", that also had some live action in it but it wasn't used as much as it was in "Water Babies".

Unfornately I don't remember "Fearne Gully" but I think I will look in to it:)(I've gone Animated Film crazy:D).

BTW I've just remembared "Nezha Nao Hai" is also pretty much forgotten too (the whole Film is there on Youtube though). Another Film I don't think deserves to be forgotten.

I also remember another which was set in the world of mother goose but IMO that one was kind of rubbish anyway and derserves to be forgotten:yawn::sleep:.

Just saw "The Great Mouse Detective". Absolutely BRILLIANT!!!!! I loved very single minute of it:D! Exactly what Disney used to and should be about. Yet another fantastic Film that doesn't deserve to be forgotten IMO.

An American Tail, which was about a family of mice from Russia, who went to America on a boat, and on the way, one of their children is split from his family during a storm. I remember my dad renting it out for me and my sisters when we were kiRAB. It was a great film. It tickles me for some reason now because one of the mice was called Tanya and it isn't a name you'd give a mouse :D

Also Annabelle's Wish, which was a Christmas film about a calf who wanted to be a reindeer. It's such a cute, heart-warming film. It was just so sweet that you just wanted to go "Awwwww". I cried all the way through it. It would have been alright but I was 19 :o I recently bought the DVD on Ebay because I just love the film so much :o There's a Bassett Hound dog in it, who is just hilarious :D

Yeah, it's a futuristic Star Wars style cartoon film about a young man called Orin, who's forced to slave in a mine on a far away planet with his people, by lasor-whip wielding robots. He finRAB the hilt of a sword (that sometimes has an invisible blade) and a ghost appears and tells him that he can escape and free his people.
I won't tell you much more about it, because if you find a copy, that would ruin the story for you. But, on his journey, Orin finRAB himself in battles on other planets and meets a sympathetic princess and a Han Solo type character (There is also a Darth Vader style villain).
I saw it at a cinema in 1986 in 3D when it was first released. When it was released on video later that year, it was just in 2D. It would be good if they could bring out on DVD in 3D!

Is that the one that had an All-Star Hannah Barbara Characters like Yogi Bear etc?

Ahhhh "The Black Cauldron", a Cult Classic. Got that on DVD:cool:. The Horned King has got to be the one of the if not most scariest Disney Villian ever:eek:! Very dark for a Disney Movie. But then again it's not as dark as another Disney Film "The Legend Of Sleepy Hollow" (also have that on DVD). My God that Film really scared the c**p out of me:eek:and the ending STILL gives me the chills to this day:eek:.

Hey now that I think about it, "The Legend Of Sleepy Hollow" has also been petty much forgotten too. YAP! I think "The Legend Of Sleepy Hollow" may also be added to the forgotten list.

Cool! Thanks for that. I think I'm tempted to buy that DVD too so you're not alone:D.

I wonder if "The Phantom Tollbooth" is on DVD too? If it is then I'm definately going to buy that:cool:!

Very weird but intresting looking Film there. The style reminRAB me very much of Terry Gilliam's Animation Style.

I think I may consider watching that:).

Awwwww I liked "An American Tail". Such a sweet, cute Film:D(this coming from a bitter, miserable person who likes Films with an "everybody dies" ending:o).

I've never seen that but I do remember the advert for it. Could of sworn they're the same people who made "Rudolf The Red Noise Reindeer" (the one with the voices of Whoopi Goldberg and John Goodman). They both certainly do have a similer Animation Style; could be wrong though.

Still don't know it I'm afraid and the year you saw this in the Cinemas; I was still a baby:)(still hasn't stopped me from watching the old Animated Films though:o).

The story does sound intresting though, I wonder if it's on Youtube? I'll go check:).

Edit:

YAP! The Movie's definately on Youtube alright.

I think I'll watch this tomorrow, thanks for this L_Planet_Airman.

P.S. I'm the type who doesn't give a damn about Spoilers anyway so you're safe with me:D.

P.P.S Is it me or is this Thread turning into a DVD Shopping List for me now:o?
