Forgotten Animated Films

Apparently there's an Online Petition going on at the mo to try and get "The Flight Of Dragons" on DVD. I really do hope it's successful if true:). BTW I feel your pain on having it returned to your friend:D:o.

And OMG I didn't know they were the same people who made "ThunderCats" my favorite Cartoon Series of all time:eek:! That's news to me. Got ALL the Series/Episodes on DVD, still love it today:D(although IMO they should've ended it on Series 3, Series 4 I thought was pretty poor).

Personally I don't think it should be Remade. It's fine the way it is IMO. Like the saying goes, if it ain't broke don't fix it.

I want to watch every Animated Film mentioned in this Thread but after what revolver44 told me what that certain Film is about, that will be the only one I'll be giving a miss:o.

WHOAH!!!!! There was a "Lord Of The Rings" Cartoon:eek:?! And I call myself a "Lord Of The Rings" Fan:rolleyes:; shows how much I know:o.

M.u.s.t. s.e.e. t.h.a.t. C.a.r.t.o.o.n. n.o.w.:o

I've got those songs on my Ipod:D:o:o:o!

As for "Fievel Goes West", to be honest I didn't really like that Cartoon very much. The only best thing about it was John Cleese as that Main Cat Villian IMO but other than that I really didn't like "Fievel Goes West" but then that's just me:).

i loved fern gully, i think i still have the video somewhere....robin williams was the bat wasn't he?? im gunna have to try and find it somewhere

i love the animated version of the BFG :) now i know ive got that somewhere

Like I said earlier I don't remember "Fern Gully" but may I ask is that the one about Fairies? Because my mind seems to be leaning more to that part of thinking:o.

And OMG I love "The B.F.G."! Awesome Cartoon:D! Used to scare the hell out of me when I was a kid though:eek:.

Luckily I've still got "The B.F.G." on VHS, one of the last few surviving VHS' I've got. Anyone else remember one of it's songs "Whizz Pop, Whizz Bang":p?!

Man the child in me STILL loves that song to bits:D:o!

Hey just remembered another forgotten Animated Film, anyone remember "All Dogs Go To Heaven"? Despite not liking Dogs myself (please don't kill me Dog Lovers:eek:) I really liked this Film too. Quite a Dark and sad Film this was though:(. Someone's Uploaded the whole Film on Youtube (don't you just love that site:D) if anyone's interested:).

I remember watchig it when i was little and not really having a clue what was going on but loving the experience nevertheless!

The Aristocats is a classic. I don't think that's really forgotten - just people don't appreciate it as much as Aladdin, The Lion King and Beauty and the Beast. "Everybody wants to be a cat!" :p

The Great Mouse Detective. I have that as 'Basil the Great Mouse Detective' on video and on DVD :o. That used to be one of my favourites when I was little. Vincent Price is fantastic as Prof. Rattigan - very scary. :D

Finally, Rock-A-Doodle. I haven't seen that in ages. Is it the one with that little boy (Edmond??? I've guessed that :o) who turns into a cat or something and there's an evil owl that plays the organ. It's all coming back to me...

I loved this film and especially the music - 'No Cats in America' was great and 'Somewhere Out There' always made me cry - one of the first singles i ever bought.

I also liked the follow up - Fievel Goes West, all of the above but in the Wild West with cowboys!

I liked both America Tale movies. John Cleese played the villian in the second one, didn't he? Wasn't there also a song "Never Say Never"? I love trying to remember old cartoons.

I also love Thumbelina and Anastasia, which nobody really meantions anymore.

Nobody has mentioned 'The Plague Dogs' (1982)...

Animal Farm, nice to see it got mentioned, the first British animated film, in 1945, and STILL a great film...

Totally agree with that, the late great Vincent Price is a true legend and was just fantastic as Rattigan. After recently watching "The Great Mouse Detective" Rattigan has now become one of my favorite Disney Villians:cool:. Definately up there with Maleficent ("Sleeping Beauty") who just happens to be my main favorite Disney Villian of all:cool:. Basil, the Main Character of "The Great Mouse Detective" was a brilliant Character too, one of the very few Main Characters who actually had some flaws and wasn't a perfect goody 2 shoes (well, he is a good guy/mouse and all but you know what I mean;)). I'm actually trying to buy "The Great Mouse Detective" on DVD now:).

Yes, John Cleese was the Villian in the sequel:).

Oh and I LOVED "Anastasia" too:D(never seen "Thumbelina" so can't judge that one). In fact I've got "Anastasia" on DVD:cool:. I don't really think that one is forgotten though but that's just my opinion:)

When I did my Media Course I remember my Tutor just showing us a small clip of that Film. Unfornately we only saw that one clip, he didn't show us the whole Film:(. It does look very intresting though. Will definately look into that one:).

LOL:p:D!

Nope never heard of that one but it does sound intresting:D.
