For lowering my dual sport kawasaki klx250s, i have found their are two options for lowering.?

The first option is lowering is with spacers that i found through race tech. The next option would be kouba lowering links (aka dog bones). What is the best way to go about this, The bike will be lowered approx 2 inches and we have already shaved the seat so our option has to be installing a lowering kit. Racetech refers to the lowering link as old school and possibly dangerous. Im not sure where to go from here..
