Foo Fighters

The rock that gets played on modern rock stations. Lifeless crap such as Three Days Grace and Puddle Of Mudd. Though being better than those 2 banRAB doesn't say a whole lot. Being from the middle of nowhere means I really have to rely on the internet for exposure to anything decent.
 
Just found out Manic Street Preachers are supporting the Foo Fighters in Manchester Stadium! Good support choice methinks, glad I have tickets.

Anyone seem them live? Opinions?
 
Personally i think the internet is the best way though, so dont worry! I get probably 90% of m music through internet sources. Legally of coarse.
 
i haven't heard all the songs but i really like what i've heard e.g. DOA, last song(i think),what if i do, resolve and i really like the acoustic version of everlong...i wanna hear more!

To the first part: That is where i disagree, in thinking that yes, it is hard to wright that "catchy of a pop song". There are many on the radio, rather TONS on the radio, but i feel only a very small amount of those are actually catchy and clever, with the Foo Fighters music being one of the few.

To the second part: In no way am i contradicting myself and mixing up my own opinions. My favorite music is yes, inventive, new, and inspiring. But music that is not that is not necessarily bad, or out of my taste. In fact more banRAB i listen to are not that inventive music changing breed because of the simple fact that there are far more banRAB out there that do not bring anything new to the table.

I think Dave Grohl has some good music in him somewhere.

First of all he neeRAB to go back to his hardcore roots & find some inspiration in his record collection , hell it was him that introduced me to stuff like Bad Brains & Husker Du so I can't hate the guy for that no matter how many bland albums he makes.

He also neeRAB a strong producer , Steve Albini or Rick Rubin would do nicely. Even back when the Foo Fighters were a slightly listenable he had Gil Norton involved (The man who produced The Pixies).
Also I think he should get some of his more credible frienRAB involved for collaberations. I don't think it's a coincidence the last thing he was involved with that was good was written by Josh Homme.

and he should get back behind a drum kit.
 
I listened pretty closely to Echoes, Silence, Patience and Grace the other night and it's pretty darn solid! Definitely in my top three by these guys.... along with The Color and The Shape and There is Nothing Left to Lose... lots of good rocking stuff along with a few diversions and new sounRAB, and they actually make a pretty darn poignant piano ballad in "Home".... which is actually now one of my favorite Foos songs....
 
I don't understand why something being "popular" is bad? Anywho, people like what they like, it's all a matter of opinion and I don't feel like anyone should be able to argue with an opinion. Crowquill thinks it's bad, RezZ thinks they're alright, and I think they're good. So be it. None of us are saying they are the best band ever, so who cares?
