Has any one seen this?
Its one of my best movies.
Which I used to watch as a kid.

Synopsis

A 12 year old boy goes missing in 1978, only to reappear once more in 1986.

In the eight years that have passed, David hasn't aged.

It is no coincidence that at the time David 'comes back', a flying saucer is found, entangled in electricity cables.

After a mystifying disappearance aboard a spectacular, futuristic spacecraft, David Freeman returns to earth possessing vast, undiscovered knowledge about the farthest reaches of the universe.

With these sudden navigational powers, David is able to take the fantastic flying machine anywhere he desires.

LOVE this film! Also just as good - The Explorers.

Both available really cheap from Amazon, well worth buying/re-watching!

It was given away in the papers not that long ago. Check out the free dvRAB in the newspapers thread for more details. I got one as its one of my fave 80s scifi flicks.

Ditto, but in all seriousness here... Who wants that awful Cinema Club DVD, when you can have the US Disney equivalent that has vastly superior picture and audio quality? The price jump isn't all that high either.

The UK DVD has got to be one of the worst in quality that I have ever seen. It literally is a VHS transferred to DVD. Utterly unacceptable.

I know. What's the problem? Practically all DVD players here are multi-region and if you have landed yourself in a situation with a locked R2 player that cannot be changed, then more fool you. I could make a better looking DVD using a good quality broadcasting of it from terrestrial television than this one. Why do you think the newspapers were giving it away for free? Because it's worse quality than a good quality pirate DVD, that's why. Pathetic.

A little grainy? What picture were you looking at? That's the typical response I'd expect from a casual viewer to be honest.

I have a large 1080P flat panel and the quality was atrocious. I didn't get past the first 5 minutes.

I ordered the Disney DVD right after binning it. It's called patience and real appreciation for a film enough so that you will give it the respect that it deserves and watch a decent quality version. There is cheap, then there is "cheap".

This film is one of my favourite 80's movies, and probably one of my favourites overall. I could watch it over and over again, and never get bored with it - the music's brilliant too (I have some of it on my iPod) :D

Sadly I don't have it on DVD yet though...

Amazing movie. That and "Explorers" are movies I remember watching on TV when I was about 10... watched them again and still decent. The only thing I didn't like was the cutesy alien moments in Flight of the Navigator, but it is a lovely film.

A classic film. Although a lot of it is pretty schmaltzy some bits are actually scary (or at least I remember them being when I was 10....:)

this a truly classic film, it was always on BBC1 up until a few years back. I got that Free copy but I hvaen't watched it yet, I was bit put off that it lists it as 4:3. around this point I would be tempted to order the R1 DVD, but I think I'll wait for the Blu-ray version. for now i've got the memories...of a sharp picture!

yeah a classic film. One that was always on TV and you always had to watch. As a kid its a really enjoyable film, will have to re-watch it and see if its still as good watching it as a grown up.

I actually liked that cute little alien he found, they would make great pets, better than a Mogwi anyway.
