Not much to go by. They're not even colored or complete yet.

And I'd imagine a CGI rugrats would be like those.... horrific Baby Geniuses movies.

I remember the Playstation gamees where they were in CGI.
It didn't look good.

But people shouldn't worry about that, since they will never make a CGI Rugrats movie, or another movie of them at all, until maybe 20 years from now where they try to revive old franchises.

From the shots I've seen, the CGI looks pretty bad, I mean DTV, or Reboot Season 1 bad.
But hopefully it's too early to tell.

Ahh gross! I think the only show that looks good in CGI is Code Lyoko. I haven't seen the Smurfs in a REALLY LONG time, but I do remember that they'd prolly look better in the 2-D animation that they are right now.

Come on, folks. It's Smurfs. What were you all expecting? Jurassic Park?

I'm more intrigued as to how the writers are going to stretch out a Smurfs plot into 90 minutes. Also, I heard that this was supposed to be a film trilogy!

To answer your first question, no. I'm just not used to seeing the Smurfs in CGI. As for your second statement, I'm sure the writer's will think of some way to stretch the Smurfs so that it is 90 minutes. And finally for the trilogy, the writer's may have to think of cliffhangers at the end of the first and second movie of the Smurfs to keep the audience interested in the release of the third movie of the Smurfs IMO.

Exactly my thoughts. They look like Smurfs, they didn't deviate from the original designs. They are lifeless as of now, yes, but this is wire frame and preliminary test runs territory. They will clearly look a lot better by the time we have the film together.

Why couldn't they just do a gorgeous looking 2D film like the new Lucky Luke one?

And the Smurfs had some multi part stories before and there is a lot more plot to the comic books than to a regular episode. Making a 90 minutes Smurf movie isn't thatbig of a challenge if you ask me. Making it a success that's a whole other smurf game.
