First of all just want to say hi to everyone!
I've had a back issue going on for around 2 years now, if not longer. I had a microdiscectomy on my L5-S1 disc for a herniated disc in January of 2008. Therefore it has been a year and 3 months since my surgery. My main, and still ongoing problem has been an ache on the left side of my back near the iliac crest. I have done research, but with so many different problems it's hard to pinpoint what could actually be going on. Here are some of my symptoms:
1) Dull Ache on lower left back near iliac crest
2) It feels as if its a deep tissue bruise
3) Moving around does not hurt much.
4) Bothers me mostly when sitting
5) Right side is fine
6) When I press down on the area it feels as if someone punched me in the area and I have a bruise.
7) Pre-OP bad range of motion/flexibility in legs/hips. Post-OP even worst.
It feels muscular and I'm not sure if it is related to the herniated disc.
When the ache appeared it began to worry me so I got an MRI. The MRI revealed some minor disc bulges above L5-S1, but a nice sized bulge at L5-S1. I can honestly say I feel the same if not worse since the surgery.
I recently have decided that I'm going to partake in a full body transformation. I'm going to focus on core strengthening and see if by getting in better shape this could go away.
** I have a strong suspicion that it could be Sacroiliac joint problems, however no doctor has diagnosed me with anything like that. They seem to focus on the disc problem.
