First E90 Pics!!

Dude this thing is SWEET!

It has TOTALLY beaten my expectations! The previous 9300/i (was this the first usuage by Nokia to update an existing model with the initial i?) and 9500 had so much hype that it was lacklustre at release.

Compatibility with S60 and auto screen adjustment & auto loudspeaker upon screen opening. Ability to use Bluetooth & WiFi when in offline mode is definately a deal clincher.

But the 3.2MP camera WITH AutoFocus & LED FLash?!?!! Along with the beauty to be attractive and woah ppl and be masculine in black, now that is so much better than the P990!

Man so many great phones announced this year - EVERY manufacturer has something incredilbly power yet attractive.

I'd like to thank Nokia for giving us choices. And developers for sticking to S60 platform

Upgrade (Wife & I) Decision time:
Nokia E90 & E61
E61i & HTC S620
Nokia E90 & HTC S60
Nokia E90 & BB 8820 (8800+WiFi)
BB Pearl & Nokia E61i
BB 8820 & Nokia E90 = my first car (lol)

PS can you imagine the incredible features & seemless integration of BlackBerry Connect on the E90 the way it works on the E61?!!!

LOL LOL LOL, Deuxani has said it over and over and over again: the N95 pic was just his vision of what it would look like (plus he and everybody thought it was going to be called N83). This "picture" of his of the E90 is exactly the same story. Just his drawing based on the leaked pics. Sorry guys.. Does not mean that it might be very close to the real thing in the end.

The screen outer screen looks identical to the E50 I have. In fact, the entire layout of the outer unit is similar to the E50. Nothing wrong with that at all! Long day at work so I'm really late to the party! Im in love....N95??? what's that?

If this shot alone doesnt make you want to abandon all financial responsibilities and get this puppy at all costs then something is desperately wrong with you.

I really wanna know how the keyboard width is, one of my gripes with my 9300 is that it was just to wide to type on comfortably. the e61 rocks in this area.

odd I think the 9300/9500 keyboard is the best of any QWERTY device out there. It actually gave room for pressing keys. This should be an evolution of this and (thankfully) be backlit this time.

it does. Michael Jerz of My-Symbian is answering questions on their forum, and at the same time working on an apparently in-depth review. I'm mostly interested, though, as to what bands of 3G it has, of course. I could see this being a flagship, that it POSSIBLY would have the tri-band UMTS like on the TyTn and Athena.

I have to agree that wifi was only marginally faster when it came to web browsing on the E61 but the beefed up processor and gobs of RAM leads me to beleive this monster could be a whole lot faster. I posted this in another thread but I'll post it here as well......
2 dissapointing things....well maybe 3...
1. No US 3g
2. No "out of the box" support for 4gig cards.
...and possible 3. No CZ lens on the 3.2.

other than that, this thing is the real deal!

No GPS I guess tomtom and the nokia gps mod will be sufficient. Hopefully the exclusion of gps will keep the cost of this unit somewhat reasonable....but somehow I doubt it. I noticed that it was reported by Engadget.....
"We'll know soon enough -- 3GSM is next week where we're pretty sure this will see an official launch."

does this mean that it's been under wraps similar to the n800 and it's going to be released right at the announcement of the unit? I am on he E90 bandwagon like a mofo!...already was but with these pictures and the screenshot we've seen I'd say this falls under the perfect phone category. I wonder if the video shoots 30fps since it seems to be packing the same lens as the N93.

Good points, but remember, this is an E-series, not an N-series. The second 2 would be more focused towards a multimedia person rather than a business user.

According to the guy leaking the info, it DOES have GPS, AteFifty. This is "my N95" and I'm soooo psyched for it! Though, if Nokia (once again) gives the US the finger by not including US 3G, I may not bother with it.

3.2mp camera (most likely doesn?t have autofocus) with LED flash

800x352 resolution internal (240x320 external display) @ 16 million colors which allows for switching from one display to another without losing your application.

Decent form factor compared to the E61 pictured next to the phone

GPS (not agps)

EDGE & rumored 3.6mb HSDPA (U.S. 3G?)

Quad Band GSM w/ 850 for Cingular types (is this confirmed?)

S60 3rd Edition (3.1 Feature Pack 1)?would prefer crossbow only because I hated my P900 but that has been many years and is probably much improved. I should read some my-symbian.com forums.

It has vibrate

Wifi (b/g?)

Not sure what the dual hinge means...open up like the 9500 or like the 9300...guess I need to see this in pics.

No touchscreen

mini-USB port

micro-SD (assume up to 2gb)

Said to only have 128mb of memory and using arm11 processor @ 330Mhz, but also said that nokia devices run more effiecient...dunno? Could be misinformation.

A low resolution camera on the inside for video calling.

Suppose to come out in Spring 2007???

I cancelled my Verizon Moto Q service yesterday, the phone's 240x320 resolution was annoying, I could see the usefulness of this device with 800x352 so long as the web browser was better than I.E. on WM5 and it had HSDPA with Cingular.

I was thinking of getting the V3xx and doing bluetooth DUN but I might wait to get this device.

Here's another engadget thread.

http://www.engadget.com/2007/02/09/press-shot-of-nokias-e90-communicator-emerges/

And this was already mentioned but all of my (mis) information was found here, the two engadget threads and the link below...I'm just looking for a smaller OQO like phone.

I agree but what about those of us that are both! Come on Nokia! GIVE ME MORE!!!

edit: BTW...I was 45 minutes late to work this morning reading your gd site! .....couldnt pull away...

Check it QWERTY geeks, we've got a trio of clandestine snaps of Nokia's oft rumored, but never seen E90 communicator. As you can see from the pics, the E90 does indeed pack a dual-hinge allowing it to open like a 9500 or fold-up flat like the 9300. And while you're checkin' the cameraphone snaps, know this: according to our new best friend and source -- "Brando" -- it does indeed pump S60 at its core and boasts a solid 3.2 megapixel cam. But damn, you see that bigazz main display? Could that be the rumored 800 x 352 pixel resolution? We'll know soon enough -- 3GSM is next week where we're pretty sure this will see an official launch.

Update: A bit more detail: HSDPA (yes), GPS (no), quad-band GSM (yes), WiFi (of course), internal display (800 x 352), external display (240 x 320). Both screens support 16 million colors and all applications can run on either screen -- launch an app on the external display, open and continue working with a massive increase in pixel-estate.

[Thanks, Brando]

I hope your right but according to "Brando" it's without it. This is str8 from the engadget site.

Edit: Of course now I'm reading somewhere else that Engadget is wrong in reporting that it doesnt have GPS. WTF?? With that monster screen it's absolutely perfect for GPS.......I just wet myself!

Quoted from Ring Nokia:
"The article said GPS - NO. That's disappointing if it's true...

It's not true."

That's from the guy who's been leaking info on it.
GPS would be sweet, but US 3G will be the kicker for me. If Nokia acknowledges that we exist, then I'll shell out $700 for this phone.
