Finally N73 is added to NSU

In the UK on o2 here and is also saying that there are no updates!! Wait ages for an update to come along and when it does it doesnt work lol!

I mean this is the 1st firmware update for this phone..

It took 4 F/W update to fix the N70.. What is your take on that?

I feel your HATE..

As Nokia mentioned over and over again.. "IT IS HARD TO STABILIZE THESE N-SERIES"

So bare with them and be patience!

Also you guys are so in a hurry for the N95 to come out! When a Firmware problem comes up. What do you guys do? Blame on Nokia!

So who's fault was it anyway?

Nokia who's trying their very best to put out the phone and fix the known errors.

OR

Consumer Electronics that are bugging out and screaming to their lungs for this phone to come out..

Figure it out..

eh... i'm using 2.0628.0.0.1(11) and it says i got no update. There's at least 2 newer firmwares, at least its a step in the right direction.

Alright.. Phone is back in the box sealed with the latest firmware and ready for FS again!! Heheheh!!

FS: N73 with the latest F/W that just came out today..

I hope It will help to boost the sale with the phone having the latest F/W...

Yes, you can just change your product code and upgrade and it will take the new region for that product code.

You can also have it "re-install" via NSU if you want to... if the phone has a supported firmware and you want to re-install it will let you do that. In fact, that's what it thinks you're doing if you have the newest and just change the product code - but be assured it will actually change to the new region (i had mine at 12, changed it and it installed and went to 8, then realized i wanted 1 so i changed the product code again and did a re-install via NSU and it changed to 1)

I changed the product code to the one papa suggested (0529785) and it's updating as i type this.

edit: heh, download failed. screwy nokia and your servers.

i have problem using BT GPS and BT headset and the same time. this is not a problem on Ipaq WM5. so i think it's a bug. usually i'm loosing connection to GPS and not to headset.

my phone was originally the HK firmware and i updated to EURO1. the fonts while different, don't make that drastic of a change. EURO1 font is slightly shorter but fatter than HK font.

the camera sounds coincide with the "warning tones" under your profiles. if you have the ability to turn camera sounds off, it would mean turning the "warning tones" off in your profile regardless of the camera sounds settings.

and to angelwing and everyone else having problems, i too tried to update the first time and it scanned for about 3-4 minutes and came back saying no update found. i clicked retry and within 2 seconds, it asked if i was willing to accept their TOS and continue with the update. my phone was originally HK flashed to EURO1 and the updater flashed to the newest EURO1. so far, so good with nothing missing and the text message is lightning fast. i just updated to the 0.3 2 weeks ago, so i know what a freshly clean version of text messaging is like and this time, it beats it hands down.

Yah, I tried it a little earlier, reckon that there should be some updates soon.

I know that I'm on 2.0628.0.0.3, so those on .0.0.1 should at least be able to udpate to that .... although that may only be applicable to certain carriers.

For example, when 3.whatever makes an appearance, the Orange branded version of that may appear days/weeks/months later than the vanilla variants.

I wanted to know before I update, I've got the following firmware:

V 2.0628.0.0.1
10-07-2006
RM-133
Nokia N73 (39.01)

After updating to the new firmware,
1. If I activate the silent profile, would it still be silent when I'm taking pictures? (which does turn silent right now)

2. Would the silent profile be activated by holding the # key?(which doesn't get activated now)

Does anyone have any problem with the predictive text? How do you change the word choice because pushing down (direction) on the joystick confirms the word now!

Anyone have any ideas?

I'm not finding much of a difference at all with this new firmware. Aside from the little things they fixed, the phone kinda feels a bit faster, but that may also be because it had been really slow before I reset it anyway.

Why can't you sit back and be happy with your phone instead of every tiny inconsistency? And believe me, the SMS lag is not stupid or useless. Before the patch and this firmware, heavy texters experienced as much as 2 MINUTES hang time when sending a message. It's not convenient to have to reset your phone every 2 weeks.

Restoring data from your memory card isn't necessarily effective anyway. All you're doing is reinstalling the same applications and all of the same excess files that slowed down your phone before. At the VERY least, you can still delete themes one way or another, and I don't know what to tell you about your earpiece volume. Move out of the techno club or tell the DJ to turn it down a scoch?

I'm pretty sure it always did that. You change the selection by hitting the * key.
